Was it ever voted on which sleeve is best the elephant condoms or the paper. I dont think either one would ever cause a disc problem.

yes we have talked about it. I think poly paper is better only if it is perfectly flat, no wrinkles. You don't want it to push on your jacket when it goes in.

I only use the plastic ones, no paper, I feel that the paper ones have more friction on the ld or record when you slide it in.

I prefer the paper. It seems like the elephant condoms always seem to bunch up when going inside the sleeve and I'm worried that part the of disc at the top will get exposed and scratched. Paper sleeves tend to slide in nice and easy without any friction.

These look really nice. A little on the expensive side at $0.50 a piece. May get these for my more expensive titles.

I am partial to the paper/rice paper sleeves that Pioneer US used. I also have used Tyvek 12x12 sleeves, but I line them with an EC.

For the 'special edition' releases where they made a custom disc sleeve (like Star Wars Definitive), I line those sleeves with an EC to prevent any scratching.

I find the lined paper the easiest to get discs in and out of. But then getting it into the cover is often equally as hard. The condoms bunch and the paper catches... Sounds like I'm doing something deviant when you put it like that.

When you watch a novice trying to put a plastic sleeve back into the jacket they make it look so difficult.
I'm so used to handling LDs now that I could do it almost blindfolded and never damage the jacket or the laserdisc.

For me personally I'd always prefer the plastic inner sleeves as I find them very easy to handle and almost frictionless so no damage to jacket or paper insert.

I've never been able to get the hang of the "elephant condom" ones, they always bunch up and end up leaving part of the disc exposed. If I can I go for the paper sleeves.
