Vortex music carries used and new vinyl, CDs, DVDs, Blu Ray discs and Laser Discs, among other things.
The Laser Discs are important to some collectors.
“About every 20 years things cycle back through,” said Compton. “There is a lot of material that is not available on DVD.”
One area that Vortex specializes in is concert DVDs and Laser Discs. Compton also has some imports and rare items that are out of print.

There's a store like that in Rochester, but their Laserdisc selection is mostly common US titles.

It would be great to have a database of places that sell laserdiscs. I live about an hour North of Boston and I don't know of any place around here that carries them.

if you go to chepo records in boston, they have a couple dozen near the back not to mention CED!

There was a record store that opened in the mid 90's in N. Ireland that had managed to get hold of tonnes of ancient stock that was ALL brand /new sealed still.
For about 6 months collectors would flock to the store and clean the place out! They stocked just about everything from music videos on different formats
to LPs, cassettes, CDs etc. I always wondered where the owner had managed to get hold of the stock as there were loads of rare items like picture discs and limited 1st edition gatefold LPs with free flexi discs etc that were genuinely valuable and had been deleted for decades. It is great when a store like that opens, especially if close by.
