Anyone have a few tips on where one could buy some laserdiscs in Hong Kong? I went to Apliu Street Market and found a few, but it was a meager selection. Most stores were selling mobile phone cases and old DVDs. I have a couple of days left before I come home and wanted to find a couple of possible places.

I managed to find a few stores in Sham Shui Po. A couple were simply old ladies selling a box of LDs on the street. Saw a HK Blade, and a bunch of Japanese manga discs. Found one store that was tucked away down an alley, and up some stairs. They had hundreds of discs, but it was almost impossible to look at them, because the store was so small. Found a ton of karaoke discs, lots of p0rn discs, and a few box sets. There was a very nice Memories box, in really good condition. The owner wanted $800HK for it, pretty much the same as Ebay or the LDDB store. I think the sight of a Westerner asking for LDs increased the price abit. I didn't really feel like haggling. Found the odd Japanese title, Lifepod, Robocop, but they were in pretty bad shape. Didn't buy anything, but I had fun looking. I'm sure if you went on a regular basis, you could snag a gem or two.

Hi there. Sham Shui Po is definitely the best place to find LDs in HK, but lately the sellers on the streets haven't had much on offer I'm afraid. I usually go to this little old lady (you've probably seen her) who sells LPs and LDs at the top of Apliu Street, but she hasn't had much on offer lately.

There's an LP shop with literally thousands of records which also has a large collection of music LDs called Heng Sing Records. I can't remember the exact address but its on the left side of Apliu St if your looking towards Dragon Centre. You'll see a staircase with a yellow poster with 'CD' written on. There are two shops on this street that are similar but this one is painted white inside and also sells shoes (!). It's roughly located here.

That's interesting, I've never seen this place before. Can you give me more specific directions? Is it an alley that leads off Apliu Street? I'm very interested to see this store!
