I see that most laserdisc have à thx logo but the Dts version not.

Does this mean that there is à diff in picture between the thx ac-3 and the Dts version of à movie??

THX mastering adopted AC-3, at least that was my understanding.

Many DTS LaserDisc's are THX certified - and the THX logo is no guarantee of quality. Many, many non THX discs have better picture and sound than THX discs. Don't worry about THX - it means nothing.

When reading Widescreen Review and their reviews of DTS laserdiscs, they often said that the DTS releases had the same picture transfers of the THX certified releases.

Probably just isn't sporting the THX cert because Image or whomever was releasing the DTS LD didn't want to shell out to put the THX logo on the cover.

I don't know that we could just blindly blame Image for the decision. It's interesting to note that the titles which are THX certified in AC3 and not THX certified in DTS here in the states are in the same configuration on the Japanese releases. I've not done an extensive title-by-title comparison, but other than "Con Air", all of the titles in this group appear to be Fox titles.

Generally most THX AC-3 were also THX DTS discs. There are a few exceptions where the DTS version does not get the THX certification while the AC-3 did.
