All of my discs ship for 1.6 lbs regardless of how hard I try. Double discs hit right around 1.9 lbs. So they all go the same way. Boxed and protected!!! Lol, Media mail in the US is 3.01 for 2lbs, another 50 cents for supplies. The world is pretty much 16.55 regardless of how hard I try to lower weight. Canada is 11 bucks. So no reason to skimp. I dont pay shipping, lol. People that skimp suck. I did have a learning curve when I first started. Now I pretty much have it down.

Here is an example of Pet Damage - an 8" laserdisc that was chewed by a pet rabbit!

Image

The rabbit worked its way around all four corners and chewed them all!
It ruined the cover and insert but the disc was fine. So now you know to keep bunny away from your collection.

Yes that really is bad boy Bobby Brown second from the left:

Cheap and nasty packaging

You'd be surprised the number of people who think it is perfectly normal to ship a LD inside a large jiffy bag with absolutely no other protection!
If you are lucky all four corners of the jacket with be totally scrunched to pieces but the disc will be ok. If you are unlucky the disc will also be cracked!

This still happens a lot in eBay, I've received two cracked discs during last year or so because sellers decided to snatch some of the charged shipping costs to their own pockets and ship discs in plain jiffy bags overseas instead of boxing them properly...

I've received worse, almost half of the discs I've gotten from mainland US have been shipped with no protection at all. They're literally just there in the box! I usually don't mind as long as the discs is ok, but try telling that to my poor Aladdin LD.....it never stood a chance. Didn't even get marked as fragile.......
