Something tells me Apple wouldn't make something as "ugly" as that. Too much wasted space on the right side. Looking at it too hard might make it topple over.
My guess is that is a photo-shopped image of a Power Macintosh G3 Desktop and a Power Macintosh G3 Mini Tower merged and a LD player drive added. But it looks rather clean, so who knows for sure.

I'd say the give away is that the desktop is not deep enough to load a full LD and there would be no space for the optical block to move around...

Probably not mentioned before. In Pacific Blue S2 / EP13, Outlaw Extreme, near the end of the episode around the 40 minutes mark, you can see a criminal guy carrying stolen merchandise, a boxed Sony MDP-200 gets put into the back of a trailer. Later on the same guy in the back of the trailer throws boxes at the bike cops. Maybe he already knew at that time that Sony players were junk? Could not see the MDP-200 gets thrown out, though.
I remember a movie where a bunch of people could not get into club/movie and decided to go home to watch laserdiscs, One suggests a movie which the female says 'if only its in Pan and Scan' which everyone looks dissapointed. One person boasts he has imported the Japanese Planet of apes in widescreen. Ring any bells for someone?

Sounds like "Free Enterprise" to me. One of the characters mentions his Japanese "Planet of the Apes" laserdisc set when trying to pick up a girl, and later they all get kicked out of a 70mm screening of "Wrath of Khan," I can't remember if they suggest going home and watching laserdiscs or not (been too long since I last saw it).
I actually posted about the film back in one of the early pages of this thread. Here's the "Planet of the Apes" scene
I often talk to the director, Robert Meyer Burnett, on Twitter; he's a great guy with a massive love of laserdiscs. He used to work in a LD store and fought to get the film released on LD right at the end of the format's life.

I just noticed a brief mention of the format, in The Terminator, when Kyle Reese awakens from his first future nightmare, in the car he just stole, there is a guy talking about some newly available Laserdiscs on the radio.

I must have seen this film many many times, as an exhibitor back in the day when it first was released in the UK (showing my age now) & at late shows for a few years after & on various home media formats plus TV showings but never noted that. Will look out for that the next time I am watching it.

Right at the end!

Notice the word he says before it though.
He says compact laserdisc.

Maybe was named before, but didnt see it skimping over the thread
The show was in a pretty akward space airing wise. The intended Target Audience was supposed to be Adults, but it wasnt edgy enough for Adult Swim, so it got moved into Cartoon Networks Kids Program

There is at least one thread here about Regular Show.
