Don't know why they'd even need a record on hand for that mistake to happen

In Japanese fighting game The Queen of Heart one of characters throws laserdiscs

She also throws a bunch of CDs so by difference in size you know for sure this is LD

Did you see the time (6:33) is provided in the original post?

Mention of Laserdisc in Demolition Man. Sandra Bullock says, as Lenina Huxley : [ complementing Spartan - Sylvester Stallone] "You are even better live than on Laserdisc!"

That sounds like a rather strange thing to say, considering the context.

Reminds me of this Finnish issue of The Punisher comic where they'd translated "compact discs" as "laserdiscs" and this wasn't even in the '80s when they hadn't quite decided what to call CDs yet!

Is it just me or does that Laserdisc start out as a record (small center hole) until she picks it up and the camera cuts and it turns into a Laserdisc?

One for the blooper reel; or was it actually a deliberate plant???

Anyone who knows anything about LD these days may certainly have an agenda, especially in this context. Sourcing one of those old school players alone says something. Would love to know more about the producers of the video who put it all in there!!!

I was perusing the internet and came across this picture:

I did some searching and it is a snapshot from a 2012 Google April Fools video about getting the entire YouTube library on DVD with trending videos on LD (time stamp 1:50).

A Hitachi data LaserDisc features prominently in the cheap adventure story "The Devils Mirror: The Viking Cipher No 5" by Rick Spencer, published in 1985.

I picked up from a used book shop in London based mostly on the fantastic Cannon Films-esque cover:

Not sure if this one has been mentioned. "Must be the feeling" by Nero. A laserdisc gets loaded into a player in the boot of a car. I think the implication in this video is that the disc is responsible for playing the music only. Laserdisc is well known for its sound capabilities I suppose. You can see it once at the beginning and again at 03:28.

That is a really stupid place for an LFE but I sure would like to see the rest of the car, is it a VW Golf 1 Cabriolet? I see “Micra” in there so maybe that explains the steering wheel and seats. Sure looks like a Mk I though.

Yes it does look like that, the instrument cluster looks to have been cut back & it appears to have the LD remote sitting above the small screen.

Looking again it could be an early Micra.
