Micras, 80s Micras even, are not large. If one were playing a CAV LD it may even have gyroscopic stabilizing characteristics ala space rockets. :)

Cool picture, where is it from - any further info?

Thanks for posting that  .

Cheers

Found the picture on Facebook around 2016 - can't remember which group as I no longer have a Facebook account.

It sure does look like the interior of a MK1 Golf cabriolet as signofzeta suggests :) edit: maybe not, Micra it is!

Forper,
If you crave 80's nostalgia, man read the book "READY PLAYER ONE"....

The movie does not even come close to the revisits to the glorious 8o's
Dont know if you read much, however this book is written so you can glide through and not want to put it down.

The movie has some decent graphics, it's the better story and plot that make the book a must imbibe !

I reccomend this book to everyone who would like a nice time machine excursion into the near future and recent past.

Check it out peepz !

Cheers

J

thanks Firehorse, I think I tried to watch the movie but didn't finish it, not for me.

No I don't read books but thanks anyway. I have my own personal '80s in my head and I just need to buy my own house so I can convert it to all '80s decor

I'm guessing it just plays a CAV disc at a speed determined by how fast you're pedaling, that's all.

It didn’t occur to me that it would be that sophisticated but I guess I can see it doing that.

Does it say “Perceptronics”?

New Age (1994) [13030]
~ 10:30 Peter Weller is watching a video and pauses it as Judy Davis enters, then tells her something like "Laserdisc is superior to VHS, but vinyl is clearly better than CDs. Digital is weird."

Grabbed a new switch game, Murder by Numbers.

Had this nice bit of dialogue when I showed a suspect a VHS.

Rising Sun refers to the medium the security disks are on as Laserdisc ~30:30. They're only about 3" across though.

In an episode of the anime series Late Night: Genius Bakabon. Mr Policeman is given a VHS tape by Bakabon's Papa containing possibly pornographic material. Trouble is it's 2018 and no one has a VHS player. The policeman goes door to door trying to find one until one guy tells him he does. The guy in fact actually owns a laserdisc player, which is then is immediately thrown out the window!

I'm watching this ESPN 30 for 30 documentary Requiem For The Big East (on the history and downfall of the Big East Conference of College Basketball) and there's this one shot (only appeared for about 1/3 of a second) of a couple kids watching a TV with a Discovision player in front of them . . .

Dunno what that has to do with the subject matter, but whatevah!
