Since I live in a relatively "poor" area of the country, there's no laserdiscs to be found where I live. As such, I resort to eBay and private Internet sales...

There's a few stores here in Los Angeles that carry used discs. I've bought many from Amoeba and Atomic Records.

The few recent LDs I bought were also from Amoeba and Atomic Records. (The one in Burbank?) I sold most of my laserdiscs to Amoeba in Los Angeles. It's very probable that you might have bought one of my used LDs there.

Back in the mid '90s I used to buy my new laserdiscs mostly from Dave's Video in Studio City. Did you ever shop there? It was a nice place, where you'd see the occasional celebrity buying their LDs and expensive A/V equipment.

I've only bought a few LDs through Ebay, such as a few Golden Age of Looney Tunes volumes and the Japanese LD of Song of the South.

By the amount of discs I buy at Amoeba, it's probable that I've bought a few of your discs. haha. Dave's was great. At that time everything was out of my price range, (I was 20 in 1992) but I did make my very first credit card purchase there. The Star Wars boxset. With my cc charges and only paying the minimum amount, I probably paid more than $500 for that set. Now I regularly see it at Amoeba for $10. Damn!

On my trips to LA in the late 90's early 2000's, I used to go to Ken Cranes. There was another store not too far from the DirecTV uplink location that had used laserdiscs but can't think of the name.

Since I just got into LD's this year- I have a small collection of 2-300. My first purchase came from Chuck Legg, I went up to his house since he's only 70 miles away. 10,000 LD's in the garage and probably 20 higher end players, plus he has more stuff in the house.
Anyways, I picked up my elite CLD 79 and a few movies from him. Ebay, Craigslist have been the main places. I do have a few friends that keep an eye out when they are hitting thrift stores.

It's eBay for me. I haven't found or heard of anywhere in Australia that stocks any significant inventory of laserdiscs or players. My first player and discs were from a pawnbroker, but I reckon I got lucky there. There was a great Australian based shop on lddb, but that has since disappeared.

Where in North Texas? I can't seem to find anything out here.

There is only one pawn shop in the city where I live, and they get in Laserdiscs once in a blue moon. They are all mixed in with their LPs though and it's a pain to sort through them. I have bought maybe 10 there in the past 3 years. As such, I mainly buy off of Kijiji and Craigslist. If there is something I really want I look on ebay or order through Duff. I have only ordered once from the Laserdisc Vault, and it was only cause I was dying to get a copy of Jurassic Park DTS.

Most of the Half Price Books locations have some, although which ones & how many is always changing. You just have to phone around. I can tell you that the Arlington (Lincoln Square) store had quite a few when I was in there last week, & the Fort Worth (Hulen) one had a small selection two or three weeks ago. The flagship store on Northwest Highway sometimes has a whole lot (I must have bought 40 or 50 Japanese discs there), sometimes none at all. The Bedford & Richardson stores may have as well — I picked up a copy of THX WOW at Bedford once.

As for other places, Doc's Records, on Montgomery in Fort Worth, has a bunch in crates under the table with the soundtrack LPs. I believe some of the other record stores may, although Forever Young doesn't. The Goodwill stores sometimes do, although they may be mixed in with LPs. And there are always offerings on Craigslist, of course.

Thought I would take a pic of my favorite used laserdisc store, Amoeba in Hollywood. As you can see, it's usually a good day when I get a chance to get over there and look around.

Spent 70 bucks on ebay today for 20 discs. Now that is a good day, lol. Got some pretty decent horror and foreign stuff.

The rows on the bottom are all $1 or 1.99. The top ranges from 3.99 to abot 19.99 for the box sets. I've found a lot of great deals and usually can't get out of the store for less than $50. I probably have 100+ discs I haven't watched yet but I keep going back haha.

 Haven't seen anything like that since the mid 1990's. The most Laserdiscs I've ever seen(in recent years) were sitting in one box on the floor of record store.

Thanks for that picture ratkins...
Just brought back some very fond memories...
So good to see that there are places still proudly displaying LaserDiscs for purchase !!!
Wonder if we could put a topic out listing current public dealers in all parts of the country and perhaps the world for that matter.
Just a thought...........

Most of the Laserdisc's that I have purchased over the last approx 11 years have been from Ro-Disc in Rotterdam in the Netherlands (Itravelled there personally to purchased about 40 titles,)Da-Dons dadonslasers@nym.hush.com
in the US, Nicholas Santini in Japan, RecoBANCHOU in Japan & Julien the administrator of this site.

All of the above sellers provide a top and proven and trusted service of which all can depend on.

They treat each disc with the upmost care and take great pride in what they do.

Sincere Rergards.

P.S. I have also purchased from other places of which one is no longer trading & the other no longer has LD's second hand ect. :(

Majority of the LDs I bought over the last 22 years are from:

New Discs: Ro-Disc (Rotterdam); Original Version (Baarle Nassau); Home Theatre & LaserView (Antwerp)

2nd Hand: Ro-Disc + GoodSquid + adds on local auction sites + my LD friends

Have to say the quality, quantity & interesting titles of adds on the local auction sites is really going down,
majority of people that still kept their collection meanwhile got rid of it, less and less often new "fresh" collections are offered,
while the "trash" titles keep appearing (and go from one buyer to the other), also the bidders are a very close circle of "die-hards".

Being still very young when I bought my first discs, I really had to save money for each one and carefully select the discs I really wanted....
vast majority I bought after the year 2000.

This is a question I have asked a few times (on some other less specific sites than lddb.com) but never got a response....

Does anyone have an active site-link to Ro-Disc (Rotterdam)? Google seems to get lost in useless blind alleys.

According to other threads on this site, it's been closed for several years.
