Actually i have a suggestion.... If you are looking for a new place to try for laserdiscs...and i have actually had success with this rescently. Try this...if your city or town has a mom and pop shop that sells old records go on in there and ask them if they have any laserdiscs. The reason i tell u this option to try...is because those that do not know what a laserdisc is often assume that what they are looking at is a record and often get rid of them with there old records. And it seems that the last few years...people that have had older relatives pass on and have to go through their personal effects have often sold off what they assume are records to these mom and pop record shops. So try it....you may just find some jems.

Have they maybe pulled them off being their away? Or have they stopped selling laserdiscs? As far as I know Snowrecords no longer sell LDs. Glad I purchased a large quantity from them over the last few years before they pulled out of the LD business as they often had some great music titles.

I ran into a few LD's this weekend in an antique mall. Nothing great, a few Segal movies, most in rough shape. At 4.95 a piece I passed on them.
As of late only place I have picked up any LD's is on ebay.

sdraper wrote: Wow, I already see a few titles I'd like. Please tell me this is one place that actually sells LDs for cheap. It would be nice to know that there isn't one store that won't rip you off. I've only ever been there in person, so I don't know what the situation is with shipping/buying online. The people that run the store are really, really cool, and fair, but they also don't want to get ripped off, which I totally understand. My strategy when I go is to go through every laserdisc and find the ones I want with the lowest price tags (every title is 50% off the price tag, without price tags they set the price at around what the disc usually sells for). They often have two, three copies of discs with different price tags, so it's something of a game to try to find the one with the lowest one. When there's one that I want for less than the price tag I suggest what I'll pay for it and they say what they'll accept and if it's higher than what I'll pay for it then I put it back. I often end up putting back quite a few, and sometimes regretting it. Which is kind of fun because I'll remember that and then try to pick up some of the ones I passed up on the next time I go. They have a website at www.thomasvideo.com .

WOW looks like a few thousand Laserdisc there, but they need to be kept vertical upright. I'd be checking each and one of them though for possible cracks after being lent over like that with so much weight pressing on them.
