I like to work but me and Japan didn't always get along even though I was fluent in the language. Even after 7 years It never felt like home to me, I couldn't make much money either.

So I'm back in good ol Australia earning three times as much and enjoying my work more in my own culture.

I can just mail away for this stuff now and visit for a Hard Off tour every few years but I miss the bargains that used to randomly present
themselves.

If you can make okay money and make some friends (I couldn't) then yeah Japan is awesome I think.

That's a very interesting read, actually.

My impression of Japan is that Japanese people are VERY friendly but it appears to be superficial and it is not easy to become real friends with them.
I have never lived in Japan ( only went there once 3 years ago ) but my impression was that Japanese girls / women were not that easy to approach.
I spent three years of my life in China and I didn't like people there very much to be honest. That's most certainly not a country I wish to spend my entire
life in. Hong Kong is great though. If I had the money I would live there. It is so open-minded compared to Mainland China.
Well, sorry for being off-topic.

I thought mimylovesjapan was Japanese but apparently I was mistaken. Have a nice day.

Sorry for the off-topic too !
In fact I know nothing about japan out of Kansai Area. I love Kansai. And people is so great. They like they work, and are modest, perfectionists, patient, tolerant, never angry. I don't earn so much money here, but I am christian, and I feel christianity in some way in japanese way of life (maybe only Kansai ?). I try every day to be as good as them.

Just got in a big square cardboard box full of LDs from japan, mostly US big budget releases and Gerry Anderson productions, along with the Dirty Pair big beige box set. I only really wanted the anime and the three Star Wars Special Collection releases, so at some point I intend to sell the rest. Not quite sure when though.

Not including the previously mentioned:
Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition (PILF-2434)
Indiana Jones Trilogy (PILF-1560)
Jurassic Park (PILF-1926)
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (PILF-2635)
TopGun (SF047-1785)
Thunderbirds Vol 1: To the Rescue (BELL-2)
Thunderbirds Vol 2: Countdown To Disaster (Bell-4)
ThunderBirds Are Go/ThunderBird 6 (ML-3)
Captain Scarlet I (BELL-455)
Captain Scarlet Movie (BELL-12)
Spitting Image (G88X0215)

But why is it framed?

Is the disc broken/missing? Or is it still easily removed and/or because it looked good for the photo?

I eventually removed it from the frame because had no place to hang it.
The discs are both perfectly fine.

It's nice to see LD's out and about and in use - only the rotters should be in flat little coffins on walls!!

I just received the Criterion collection format of Forbidden Planet. I only had the CED format until today.

My backstory for FP:

In 1958, I learned how to work a 35 mm projector while I was in 4'th grade. I was then asked if I wanted to work the projector during the showing of movies on Saturday afternoons. In my home town back then, there was very little entertainment for primary school students. (The closest theatre was 20 miles away.) The school decided to show movies in the school auditorium for free to help fill this gap. The Junior class sold candy and popcorn in the lobby.

I was there when FP was shown and it hooked me on SciFi ever since. Needless to say, FP has a soft spot in my heart.

The 2 FP discs came in their bifold cardboard sleeve in excellent condition. The sleeve is in very good shape also.

I started collecting a month ago, but have picked up about 300 LDs so far (mostly from 3 large local lots).
I was geeked about the Star Wars Definitive Collection, Phantom Menace, Back to the Future Trilogy, and The Fifth Element - just personal faves.

The Terminator 2 boxset with the gold plate
Robocop Criterion
F/X (Lbx) - I already have this - this is for one of my brothers.
