good to know about censorship
so if I buy a spanish edition dvd/LD with english audio it's 100% uncut

this awesome 80's horror movie La Lampara aka The Lamp aka The Outing was recently reliesed on dvd in Spain.

Glad to be able to help you.
Do not buy it. Here in Spain there are companies that save costs by launching films on non-press discs.
The Lamp is one of them. Comes in DVD-R(toast).Unless you do not mind.
Here a black list:
BD-R and DVD-R

thanx for the great info amigo
I haven't bought La Lampara, I was thinking of buying it!?
so are these spanish relieses bootleg discs from crooked private home studios?
what does spanish authorities say about this?
do authorities see between their fingers letting this kind of crime slide?
are bootlegs flooding market in Spain?

you can watch The Outing for free on Youtube if you haven't seen it.
this is a great horror I really recommend!

thanx

Hi;

Are completely legal companies, sometimes throw discs pressed and other times toasted.
There is a lot of controversy on this theme. I personally see it wrong.

Thank you for the link.

hola amigo

I don't find it serious when a studio reliese a movie on burned dvd-r/Bluray discs.
MGM does it with their classics label, if I remember correct so does Warner studio.
oh mein godt, why do they have this stupid concept?

sorry I forgot to add the youtube link of The Lamp - 1987
here it is free wiew

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS_qnR05bWI

there are lots of golden oldies you can watch on youtube, movies you haven't seen for decades.
I often watch old skool movies on youtube which I can't find on dvd or laserdisc

adios

From what I know it is mainly because these are mostly lesser known catalog titles that won't sell and probably will be left unsold for years - until they are dumped. They only produce the exact quantity there is a demand for and doing it so on the fly - no money lost.
I found one of the movies I have been looking for, that hasn't been available on any other format, but I lost the interest when I found it would be delivered on DVD-R. Don't know anything about quality check control either.

No quality control,It's as if you toast the disk ,just like if you buy a illegal street trader.

Very nice pressing of Highlander. Had a copy for years and its a clean pressing.
I've heard bad things about the blu ray that you can see the wires :(

I have not noticed any wires. I want to know why have sequals and a TV series (2) when the first made any possibility for a continuation impossible. However that being said as a movie end game is good and the first TV series got annoying

TV series started out really cool but then some strange twists.
As for the wires someone told me so they could be wrong.
I remember seeing one of the later films that i though was pretty cool and a good part of the story. Besides the first film the rest was fun to watch on Scifi
but i don't think i would ever own anything else.

Good evening Rein-o,

Good to read from you Sir,

To be honest I could see the wires on the DVD version....... Just an observation but love the Movie for a number of powerful reasons personally.

I came away from the Cinema when released thoroughly inspired.

Thank you for letting me know how clean the picture is as I trust your personal viewpoint, of which is respected.

Now all I have to do is wait for this to arrive unscathed in the post, its on these shores so at least it hasn't that far to come.

Kind Regards and look after yourself

P.S. Good morning Substance that was a pleasant surprise to read from you.... I giggled after reading your reply Thanks..
I hope you are well.

Update: It arrived in order on around 22nd of March

Not many know or remember this but benmbe's previous profile avatar was Christopher Lambert. This should explain his excitement over his new purchase;)

I too love the film, I own both this version and the Pan and Scan version which is the theatrical version of the film with a few minutes cut.

I also have fond memories of the film, I remember when they were shooting a film across the street from I lived in NYC at the
local corner bar.
