This is paradise (If you like to work sure^^) I like to work but me and Japan didn't always get along even though I was fluent in the language. Even after 7 years It never felt like home to me, I couldn't make much money either. So I'm back in good ol Australia earning three times as much and enjoying my work more in my own culture. I can just mail away for this stuff now and visit for a Hard Off tour every few years but I miss the bargains that used to randomly present themselves. If you can make okay money and make some friends (I couldn't) then yeah Japan is awesome I think.

Is the disc broken/missing? Or is it still easily removed and/or because it looked good for the photo? I eventually removed it from the frame because had no place to hang it. The discs are both perfectly fine. It's nice to see LD's out and about and in use - only the rotters should be in flat little coffins on walls!!

I just received the Criterion collection format of Forbidden Planet. I only had the CED format until today.
My backstory for FP:
In 1958, I learned how to work a 35 mm projector while I was in 4'th grade. I was then asked if I wanted to work the projector during the showing of movies on Saturday afternoons. In my home town back then, there was very little entertainment for primary school students. (The closest theatre was 20 miles away.) The school decided to show movies in the school auditorium for free to help fill this gap. The Junior class sold candy and popcorn in the lobby.
I was there when FP was shown and it hooked me on SciFi ever since. Needless to say, FP has a soft spot in my heart.
The 2 FP discs came in their bifold cardboard sleeve in excellent condition. The sleeve is in very good shape also.

lasermoo wrote: I started collecting a month ago, but have picked up about 300 LDs so far (mostly from 3 large local lots). I was geeked about the Star Wars Definitive Collection, Phantom Menace, Back to the Future Trilogy, and The Fifth Element - just personal faves. I been geeked out with those movies for decades but just the last four or five years on LD. Welcome and nice haul.
