Noticed now that Future War 198X (1982) [TE-D014] has que marks.

EDIT: Picture of one of the que marks. Put a red ring around it since the background is kind of dark.

Watched my P&S copy of Terminator 2 last night. Pretty sure it uses some sort of film elements. 99% sure there's no Cue Markers, but there are some scratches here and there.

Also just transferred my original release of Gone With the Wind. Saw some strange cue marks here and there. And there's some damage too. Its also a bit over yellow. Makes some folks look like the Simpsons in some scenes.

Good luck on getting one forper, its HIGH priced, not 10 bucks like macross the TV series

Watching Incident at Blood Pass (1970) [AD098-039]
this has the cue marks in the film, really nice print also with little damage.

You've done a review of Future War? I've missed that completely. I'll look it up now. :)

Olympia: Fest der Völker/Fest der Schönheit (1938) [IVCL-1015W]

Print is pretty beat up but does have those old fashioned B&W cue markers.

You don't think I can afford it? When I want something I don't care about the price, I just pay it. Later if it's cheap it's a bonus.

Good luck on getting friends, and not being an a*****e.

There are very few anime LDs that are still worth real money, or even their original retail. While I hate to equate cash value with the value of anything else I have to say I warms my heart that someone still cares enough about 80s anime to pay that much for it, denying the steady devaluing trend that has helped ruin anime over the last 15-20 years or so.

Is there a way to add this as an option when inputting info for LDs, to select that it has the cue reel changes.
Been watching a lot of films recently and notice a lot of stuff that has them, would be nice as a feature since LD may be one of the last video formats to have this
small detail besides the possibility of some very early DVD releases.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of cheap/shovelware DVD's (think Echo Bridge) have cue marks too. It's not like they're picky about source film quality.

I thought I've mentioned it in this thread, but this copy of 2001 is sourced from Theater print. Apparently from a 70mm print to boot! The criterion used Kubrick's 35mm copy IIRC.

Savage Man, Savage Beast (Zumbalah) (1975) [88C59-6131]

Cue marker around 17:52 into the film. Very strangely, its in the middle of the frame.

Hello!

Looks like this thread is still gathering attention, that's good!
Maybe I should add a "Sourced from theatrical prints (cue marks on screen)" to the extra details of all movies on LDs?

Would a Pan & Scan version of a widescreen movie leave the cue marks out of screen when transferred?

That would be great.
I think that some pan and scan would if they are panned to that side? or if they are more of an open matte, not that wide of a wide screen to begin with.

Probably. would depend on the aspect ratio. Its possible films that have a OAR of 1.66:1 or under might have cue markers (since less panning is necessary), but doubtful a 2.35:1 would have them. It really depends on where the Pan operator placed the camera near reel changes. Also depends on the type of film made. Super35 films sourced from film prints are more likely to have cue markers.

A Super35 feature, presented in Cinemascope, would most certainly not be more likely to have cue marks when pan and scanned than a feature shot with anamorphic lenses. Since there has been an optical printing from spherical to anamorphic, you will only have the content within the OAR to go from when it's being cropped.

If you're using a spherical source it's a different story but by then you'll most likely not have any cue marks to begin with.

I've seen some pan and scan stuff where only a portion of the cue mark is visible since it is cut off. I can't recall any specific titles at the moment.

That's what I was trying to say but was in a rush.
