I visited Ikea today and bought a couple of frames for LP's. Now, my wall looks like this.

Do you have any Laserdiscs on your walls? If so, show them here! :)

EDIT: And now, I've got four more. :D

How much do they cost???? My chillout room in my recording studio is going to sport a laserdisc player, crt tv and the walls will be covered with lds...but no frames...heck...no sleeves. Just metallic holographic walls...when someone wants to watch a film...they just pull it off the wall.

Yes,all these discs are from my overflow!!!!

The frames usually go for US$10. They're kinda heavy so if you get them shipped to you, that'll cost a bit.

Got any record stores near you? The good ones usually stock those frames as they're actually made for LPs (but work just fine for LDs.)

I've actually given LDs to friends in those frames as gifts even though they don't collect LDs. They love it just for the cover art and that it's usually an LD of their favorite movie.

Like this one, a friend of mine loves The Little Mermaid (and mermaids in general) so I gave her the Japanese LD release of The Little Mermaid with the exclusive cover art in a frame and she loved it . . .

$7.99 each, this right?

hmmm...
I thumb-tacked one of my fave art from an LP to my wall LONG ago, it's of Jesus as a warrior King, but have never thought I could frame it (most frames I seem to see are rectangular, not square, and I hate wasted space). Great Idea, Thanks!

I thought I'd posted about these here before, maybe not...I've bought a bunch of them at Michael's, and there are LPs and LDs on the walls in my basement studio. You have to check closely, 'cause there are some that say they are 12" x 12", but they don't quite fit an LP or LD inside...you need the ones that specifically say that they're for record albums, I think.

My TARGET store has those for $9.99, which is cheaper than finding an IKEA not near here...just a thought for those who don't have one too.

I'm using frames from Japanese maker ALUNA that can either stand on a flat surface or hang on a wall.

https://aluna.co.jp/

They were nice enough to even display my case on their site:

Initially I played with LP covers but right now it's all LD's Dragonball Z on the wall :-P

One is Homework and one is Human After All. Why two albums totally unrelated to each other release a decade apart have covers that look like variants of each other...I can’t say.

are the two worth getting? I only have Discovery. I've also heard the tron 2.0 one is great but I'm not interested in Tron anymore.
It is weird to have a varient of a cover and its a different album.

My ranking

RAM
Discovery
Homework
Human After All
Tron (Great soundtrack)

RAM also sounds really good. I believe it was mastered in 24/44.1kHz. I have the CD, LP and the 24/44.1 masters in ALAC. They all sound great but the 24b master is a league on its own. It is rare to have really well mastered popular music on high res lossless formats.
