So I decided to bid on on a lex demo and cld 79 both separate listings by the same guy and both priced the exact same price $99 +shipping.

didn't win the demo (another bidder at the very last minute so it was impossible to put in another bid) but got it around the same amount I wanted by another guy but got the CLD-79 and won it since no one bid on it apparently.

I will be getting a a nearly complete CLD-79 I think its missing the box but I'll have to send it to Duncan if I want it fix but its going to be a back up anyway.

I will have hopefully a working demo this time since I think my Meridian is done but I have yet to do the soldering on that to see really if it needs fixing.

the prices seem to be cheaper than in previous years or I could have just been really lucky

well, i want to say prices have droped but also want to say you are lucky.
lucky due to the fact that it's a holiday and most are not on the computer.
i just missed out on some stuff, non LD stuff went for 60 bucks and in the past would have been over 200 :(

also more and more have no extra money to spend, and when they do you have to be very lucky to get it.
so i think that's also a factor, if it's luck or cheaper than in the past it's sort of the same in a way, i guess.

it really depends on when the listings end. Auctions for laserdiscs and LD players are tricky at any time though. I don't ever try doing auctions on LDs and LD players. Things that are valuable only to a select amount of people are tricky to auction

Makes a big difference what time the auction ends. If the seller ships internationally, the time their auction ends might be middle of the night for someone in another country who won't be up to bid more if they get outbid.

Although that can be good if your a bidder having less competition.

is the lexicon LDD-1 function the same as the Meridian with DTS? Can the signal pass through since it has optical input but out coaxial?

is gas free :problem:
sounds about right, might be about .50 or .60 cents too high.

has to pack and mandatory tracking due to ebay rules, so it might be really 3.20-3.40

I offered to do a local pickup but the guy said no. I just shipped three laserdisc movies cross country for $3.88(Cali to Florida) .so I would imagine a single movie coming across town is only gonna cost like $2-3.

might be, but did you have to pay for tape??
i know it's a little more than it should be but everything is going up, and some sellers want more for shipping etc.
i charge a slight fee for supplies and everything.
i have to buy tape and drive to and from the tape store, then i have to get time to pack and pickup cardboard IF
i don't have any boxes around or make a box from cardboard etc.

lots of stuff, it also takes time as you know to pack the disc itself.
i wouldn't meet you for a 5-10 or 40 dollar disc, i just don't have the time, now 100 where do you want to meet again
