This is pretty funny, I just picked up the DVD/Bluray box of Zillion, while it is clearer there are the same
odd artifacts on the DVD and Bluray that are not on the LD, but the LD does have a slightly blurry image due to the mastering
I much prefer the LD as the colors have been boosted and light flesh is very blinding to say the least.

The LD may be a 6 out of 10 but the DVD is a clear low 6 out of 10 due to these imperfections
in the blacks and loss of image that is just bothersome, even the episode titles have a blurred background.

I have some volumes of the Zillion tv series on LD ,sure the master tapes for them are Betacam SP or Type C, that explains the intense analog colors, the grain and some off focus blurriness but i like it like that ,a perfect copy of the tv broadcast on its day

What annoys me is the little touch of green in some skin tones here, dont get me wrong ,the level of detail and crispness on this D2 tape to LD is DVD quality but in composite to composite some color accuracy is lost

Most annoying mastering "artifact" I've run into was on the Singapore LD release of Drunken Master 2. The English subtitles run the entire length of the widescreen image (unlike most other HK film subs which are kind of centered), but the image appears to be slightly cropped. So some of the subtitles are cut off at the edges!

The other one that I run into a lot is when the color black in the image aren't completely black. They're kind of dark brown.
