I absolutely abhor elephant johnnies. Ditch them the second I happen upon them. Horrible things. I prefer to use Vinyl Keepers for outer sleeves and MOFI for inner sleeves. I use the same combo for vinyl and Laserdisc. https://www.mofi.com/product-p/mfslis.htm

Just did a search and that is what you should use. last time I bought them I bought them from Japan, but I see China now sells them. Well search up anti static LP sleeves and you will find them on ebay.

Just because I disagree with someone about paper sleeves doesn’t mean I have a “flaming hatred” for anything. I think some people are just babies who, when faced with any opinion other than their own, project their own issues onto others.
As a great fan of records and LDs I have many many many hundreds if not thousands of paper sleeves with poly inside and I feel no hatred, flaming or otherwise, towards them. Someone is making s**t up.
Cramming stuff that doesn’t fit into other things that will be damaged by them is stupid. I’m not burning crosses in anyone’s lawn about it though. Librarians want you to turn pages from the top of instead of the bottom to avoid ripping the page. If you never adopt this common sense habit they aren’t going to take away your library card and call the Obedience Enforcement Brigade, they’re just going to think you’re dumb. If you can’t handle people thinking you’re dumb then I suggest withdrawing from society completely where nobody can ever question your outlook or LD collecting habits.

If it’s a silver age comic or a two foot wide photo book, yes, I treat it like a librarian but if it’s a paperback or something worthless that nobody else will likely ever read I allow myself to rough it up. Life is more fun when you just let that 46 year old copy of a 134 year old book get its cover worn in. If the pages fall out of it...big deal, there’s 192 other printings of it for people to read.

Good evening Everyone. Whenever I receive I nearly always change the inner Elephant condom and replace this with a quality Vinyl LP inner anti static. Yes sometimes due to the Laserdisc Cover not quite being able to accommodate these alternatives, I will trim the corners off the inner sleeves, so as not to crease the inner corners. The only inner Sleeves that I mostly leave on are many of the MGM Titles, as most of these come with the high quality inner sleeves. Also I always 100% place all of my Laserdiscs into an outer protective clear resealable just as a matter of protecting my investment. Kindest Regards to all

They are expensive ($20.00 for a Pack of 50) compared to the standard record sleeves, but they are worth every penny! Yes they are great & fit perfectly inside the Japanese covers that appear to be a tad smaller than the US & UK covers. They are quite pricey though but occasionally they can pop up on ebay fairly cheaply. Sometimes special LDs deserve the special sleeves. Cheers .

Meaningless. The laser blasts right through it anyway. You guys can’t see the forest for the trees man… EDIT: Since there are a dozen threads on this issue I guess I need to spam them all with the video I made about it. I'd embed it but I simply cannot be taught how to do that, it seems. Sorry. The most frustrating thing is that somehow I get it right about 1/8 of the time...long version, use the tags, take out the "s", leave the "s" I don't f-ing know. Some kind of sticky sure would help...its amazing that I was able to shoot and edit the video itself with titles and on-set sound but I'm too frikkn stupid to embed it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3O-vHpHRpM&t=195

jackbluray wrote: I noticed some of those elephant style inner sleeves that have the printed text about how to handle the laserdisc and symbols for damaged LDs that the print bleeds thru onto the actual laserdisc! You can wipe it off….
But it got me thinking… the Mobile Fidelity anti static inner sleeves also have print on them.
Hope they don’t bleed over time like those print jobs that come with some of the LDs.
Any thoughts? Don't worry. I always thought it was more like dust? I had a set of Discovision discs I picked up one, they had plastic inner sleeves that were actually crumbling in my hands as I pulled the discs out. Just wiped the discs down and put new ones on, no issues since and discs were fine.
