My favorite demonstration video of LaserDisc. Not sure what the history of this LD was ... demo that was run in retail establishments or video rental stores? Anyone else have a favorite demo video?

I must admit that I have never heard of the LD demo disc that you mention, but my favourite ones are the DTS demonstration disc with Jurassic park ect, the later Japanese DTS demo disc with a picture of a shell on the front.

Next disc's that I enjoy are the Japanese Dolby Digital and the last one is from IMAX SUPER SPEEDWAY of which I think is fantastic for sound with great music tracks from the late 60's

What is the catalogue title for this laserdisc I came across on ebay I’m sure a few days ago and looked it up and only since came by this thread today and can’t recall what the title of the laserdisc was called?

Plus I’ve seen this demo on youtube countless times along with the other video on how laserdisc works in fact all of them. Still they are great viewing for educational purposes.

I did a search under (Laserdisc demo) thinking it wouldn’t work and it did and brought up the list.
Found the title after doing Google search then saw the title then looked it up on LDD

“Preserved for ever” and this Laserdisc version is also a possible candidate for laser-Rot LOL
Its a good job the Laserdisc has been preserved on youtube its no doubt rotted by now.

My god! Is he crazy? I bought mine for $3. I can't remember if it has rot but at that time it really was a crap-shoot.

The disc is called LaserDisc What it is, How It Works - Side 1 is Patrick O'Neal, Side 2 is Mr. Wizard. A very few of the discs (they have a full black cover with a red laser beam running across it) were made by DiscoVision in America - the rest (large title lettering on front) were made in Japan by Universal Pioneer (Pioneer) are are much better quality. This disc was pressed in HUGE quantities (I have over 6 myself) and the Japanese pressing was very good - none have rotted. The disc was produced in 1980 by Pioneer to promote the VP-1000 player and was meant to run on it in department stores that sold the player (most LD players and discs were sold by department stores or white goods stores back then - there were not many AV only stores yet).
