Tenchi Muyo Vol.1

Bought it when I bought my first LD player back in '94. Still have the $32.95 price tag on it!

My first LD's were PAL versions;

1) STAR WARS PAL BOX SET.
2) INDIANA PAL BOX SET.
3) APOLLO 13 PAL.
4) INDEPENDANCE DAY PAL.
5) EVENT HORIZON PAL.
6) THE DOORS PAL.
Sorry guy's I know there's five it's just that I think I purchased these around the same time or day, so am not sure which one I watched first.

I had no idea of the vast improvements that I was going to experience, with the NTSC versions with Dolby Digital & DTS.

Going from PAL to NTSC was an eye opener :shock: :o :shock: :o

:? Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) I think. Too many years ago (early 90's) ... but I think that was my first purchase or one of the very first ones.

If 5" CDVs count as laserdiscs then it was Def Leppard - Animal - the CDV being released in 1989.
It would be another 17 years before I would actually have a player to watch the disc in 2006!

Otherwise it was Stevie Nicks - live in concert 1982 US laserdisc which even to this day remains unreleased on DVD.

Same answer, although in my case it was for $11.95, about half an hour before I bought my first player (for $15), in 2000.

I confess, joined the Columbia House LaserDisc club circa 1996
Bought a small lot for some insanely cheap price with the agreement to buy one at full price within 2 years.
Those first titles were
-Braveheart.
-Clockwork Orange.
-Congo.
-Fifth Element.
-Heavy Metal.
That club got the ball rolling for me though....
Those were the days.....
Store bought LD's brand new on the rack.......
And then the LaserDisc Clearance sales started..............

wow Julien, I had no idea you started so late. I think From Russia with Love (1963) [08JL-99209] was the first one I bought, I recall having other disc before but that was rental and borrowing disc from others.

If 5"CDV count, it was Elton John: Nikita, bought it in 1988, when the discs were released ... (with months of delay)

My first 12" was Eurythmics: Live, also in 1988

My first movie was James Bond, Licence to Kill, in 1989 and was released at the same time on VHS and CDV

Still have these discs and also the first catalogue in which there are titles that were never released

The first disc I purchased was Jaws letterboxed. I still remember my excitement at not only buying my first disc, but rushing home to see it.

My first 12" LD was a promo disc that came with my Pioneer player. It was titled Laseroptics II (put out by Pioneer) and was basically showcasing the advantages of the laserdisc format. I haven't watch it for over 15 years so I cannot remember even a fraction of its content.

Criterion King Kong 1 disc edition for the commentary about 1 year ago.... My girlfriend pointed out I didnt have a laserdisc player :wtf: ...I promptly managed to purchase a cld-d925 from ebay :D

Star Wars, Special Widescreen Edition, in the Summer of 2002. The first disc was warped and didn't play properly. An auspicious beginning.

I love the promo on Laser Optics II that has an entire extended family, from grade schoolers to grandparents, nestled in to enjoy Phantasm II.

My first discs were White Music (1981) Japanese Version and the Discovision copy of Slaughterhouse-Five.
I still have these discs and I will never sell them as these because these discs have such a sentimental value for me.
