Does the older remote have any sort of sound button that allows a toggle through the R-L channels, and maybe it will toggle to the digital sound options? Or if not, get a newer model remote with the sound options buttons, but it doesn't have to be an expensive, fancy one, or how about this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PIONEER-LASERDI ... 2eba6503a7It's pretty nice and would do everything your Elite needs to do! You'd need to snipe it to get the best price, IMO. Let us know so we don't bid against you.

ratkins wrote: Good to know. I'll bid on the remote. On analogue only discs the left & right RCA hookup is fine, I'm having trouble hooking up the digital sound though. I tried hooking up the optical and still nothing. I've never had a player that has multiple sound ports including AC-3. Do I need a demodulator for non-AC-3 discs? Give me a call and we can get the hook up for your system figured out.

No. only for AC3 discs through the AC3 output. There won't be any digital sound on analog sound only discs. Make sure your optical output shows light when playing a disc with digital sound. Also check your receiver or to wherever you have it input to be sure it's on the right sound channel. Looks like you got the remote.

I ask because it looks like I wont be needing it now. Apparently the internal A to D converter is not working. I have a guy who repairs most of my equipment but he says he cannot fix it. I don't want to spend to spend much more money so I may be taking it back to the guy who sold it to me. Thanks everyone for all your help. I also apologize for not asking the question in the correct thread. I was very frustrated when I posted and did it a bit too quickly. Thanks again, Ron
