Does anyone know if the famous Manga Entertainment intro/promo reel was ever on LD?

This is what I mean:



I've got a few on the way so it'd be interesting to know since I *think* the VHS version is the only that exists. I don't recall seeing it on any of the early DVDs anyway.

Unless Manga Entertainment UK released titles on LD in the UK, then no.

Most of those titles weren't released by Manga Entertainment in the US (Project A-ko and Dominion Tank Police were initially released by US Manga Corps, Akira was released by Streamline/Orion Home Video, etc.) So there's no way that promo was used on any LD in the US.

Streamline and US Manga Corps did make some cool promos using some of the same titles . . .

You make a good point. Though I always saw it as more a promo for Manga Entertainment rather than the individual Animes since none of the titles were noted plus I'm assuming even the most loyal laserdisc owner probably also had a VHS player

wow! celtic frost! one of my favorite bands! was that song used in the intro or did the guy put it there when he uploaded it to youtube? i gotta get some of these tapes now

That was used on the intro itself. Never knew it was even an actual released track, I though it was just made for the intro!
