I apologize if a thread like this already exists (I couldn't find one), but I thought it would be neat to have a thread where we share what our latest LD purchase is (or for those who haven't bought one in a while, share what the last disc you bought was anyways).

I just bought Wim Wenders' film Until the End of the World on eBay. It's a good movie which is not on DVD.

The AC-3 LaserDisc of the film One True Thing. I ran the film theatrically and loved it and now have it on LaserDisc and DVD. I also got the WS AC-3 release of Guys and Dolls and WS digital sound release of Seven Brides For Seven Brothers today. Both have the original directional dialog and Guys... is encoded in Dolby Digital 3/1, duplicating the original 4-track mix.

I already have an update. I decided to also buy the Criterion Chasing Amy laserdisc on Amazon.

Until the End of the World is such a great movie. How does it sound? The music is arguably the best compilation from the alterno-90's films.

The last I bought was a pair from Duff's -- Bad Dreams and Mandingo.

I haven't actually bought an LD for months, except for a copy of For All Mankind (CLV), which is bound for someone I know, so I can get my CAV copy back! Partly because of money, partly because my shelves are pretty full, partly because I've still got so many duplicates that I'd like to trade some of them away before picking up any new lots which will undoubtedly be half duplicates.

Traci, I Love You (1987) [I0043]. One of my "holy grail" discs, got it still sealed. It's never had an official release on any other disc format. Paid quite a premium for it, but glad to have it.

I went through a binge of LD buying over the last few months; my oddest purchase was a large lot of footage discs for the Dart Target System, an interactive hunting simulator. None of them are in the database.

Love that laserdisc, I have it too. Do you know there is another one:
We Love To Tease/Sex-A-Vision (1985) [SILD-4902]
I didnt know about this title until very recently when I saw it in a store.

Japan only, the other movie featuring Nina hartley. I guess this is one of those that will never get re-released. Tracy I love was the only one se was in legal age I guess.

Hah, it's probably legal for you to own that in Sweden (dunno about your age and sex laws there), but you'd be arrested if it was found that you own that in the US!!!

Lol, yeah, Traci I Love You is the only one legal in the US... and the production is only legal by the matter of two days.

Just picked up the Jack Ryan Collection, The [LV 15289-WS], Ten Commandments, The: 35th Anniversary (1956) [LV12971-3WS], and Fisher King, The: Special Edition #149 (1991) [CC1288L]. Got a few Japanese discs reserved too, but until they are paid for I won't consider them bought.

Mine would be the Singapore release of Crash and Burn (EM 9403), which was just added to the database. That's the most recent one I have actually received. I have two others I bought later, but haven't got them yet. They are both Hong Kong karaoke titles, and are coming from a seller in Australia. Once I get them, they will be appearing here soon!

I thought all of Traci Lords stuff was banned because all her films were done while she was still a minor. Or did she do stuff later? Do you know if Rockin With Seka is on LaserDisc? We carried that in our video rental store on VHS and Beta - we also had a few X titles on U-Matic from the very early days and, surprisingly, they were rented quite often.

Looks like Rockin' with Seka [I0010] did indeed get a LD release. There's one for sale in the marketplace, too!

Traci, I Love You (and compilation videos featuring scenes from it) is legal -- it was filmed when she was 18 years and 2 days old -- and was on the market until 1996, when Traci decided to "retire" that part of her past and let it go OOP. I wouldn't be surprised if, when the scandal was still new, that some vendors pulled the legal movie off the shelf, as it wasn't immediately proven that she had been of age to make it.
