The last Laserdisc I purchased & received within the last 7 days Was ''The Eagles music Video'' with Surround sound'' Yet to play Will post the results Good day to all: 26/03/2013 the results for the Eagles Music Video Concert Laserdisc are superb. Played this on the HLD X9 with the filter to darken of which done the job. I shall purchase another DTS Laserdisc of this title and ask the seller if they could play before shipping. Regards

Already have the two season dvd box set, but couldn't let this one go away. Presented in full screen and digital audio mono. No laserrot of concern and a good and stable picture. I believe there is some audible changes compared to the dvd version, but can't confirm these for sure. The entire first season of "Sledge Hammer" was issued in Japan. Alas, it is dubbed in Japanese - no English at all. Japanese with English subtitles? Thought the Laserdisc contained the original laugh track, but it didn't. Did not missed it either.

The Laserdisc in the top upper right corner slightly outside of the picture reminds me of "Raiders of the Lost Ark"? No it's not I just checked mine. Its the black band at the bottom and the tanned coloured cover that threw me off. The logos aren't the same, close. "The Super" is a comedy only seen the trailer.

It looks like they have made a change in the audio circuit... There is an extra board with a Wolfson D/A converter and a AC3 demodulator. And they have added a coax digital out (witch also puts out the converted AC3 RF signal!) That may be very handy When no AC3 signal is detected, de coax output is the digital audio (or DTS), when AC3 is detected, the coax output is dolby digital.

The other day I received Meitantei Holmes (Famous Detective Holmes): Memorial Box (1984) [TKLO-50023]. This series has been available in English more than once, going back to the VHS era, now on Crunchy Roll, but the Japanese voices are really soft and subtle like most things in this show and I like them. Holmes can drive a steam powered digging machine off a cliff and somehow its quieter and less irritating than 10 seconds of watching Glee. The animation is significantly more impressive than most 80s TV anime. This is from TMS, who often did wonderful work, and several episodes were directed by Hayao Miyazaki. This is one of several "efficient Japanese studio with big foreign money" TMS shows from the 80s like Orbots and The Littles, Galaxy High, etc., this time with the funding being Italian. There is a LOT of action and very little detective work so its not hard to follow along. Also, this LD box is NICE. The series spans 7 LDs and fits in a "book" style box (ie: Galaxy Box, CAV Brazil) for better or for worse. Included in the box is a phone card (ask your parents) and a REALLY cool book that shows line art and has complete direction for a couple of the Miyazaki episodes. This book alone is worth what I paid for the box. Obviously this box was designed during a time when they were still trying to figure out the best way to sell big box sets. Later they learned to charge less, break the box up into smaller sets, and also to never include anything fans will buy otherwise. A reminder of how much this stuff used to cost:

^Famous Detective Holmes looks like a great series. I can watch it on crunchyroll? Some neat thrift store finds. It's the only place I've found in the Twin Cities who has an LD inventory, on Selby and Fairview. It's all consignment so prices vary but I got these for 4 bucks each, 8 for Wizard of Oz. Do any other MN members know of more brick and mortar stores? Duel (1971) [19-002]Shot in the Dark, A: Pink Panther (1964) [ML102110]They All Laughed (1981) [IDVL5005]Wizard of Oz, The (1939) [ML101656]I'm curious to watch the Discovision of Duel. It's a pretty funky old movie I haven't seen for a very long time. My copy of Shot in the Dark is labeled "Made in Japan". lddb only lists Pioneer USA as a manufacturer, so I'd like to add an update. Mint marks are similar to the samples but with more serial info. Would these mint mark sequences indicate Pioneer Japan? Mint marks: Side 1: 51-456-B02-P 26A80656 Side 2: 51-456-A05-P 27A80249
