I don't have a PAL capable player but I have that set as well it. Its nicely done. the NTSC one is just black and nothing fancy. I really like the set.

Got this one today. Tried out some scenes on the first side and it has quite good picture and great sound.

Picked up the Lion King, Demolition Man, Twister, Deep Space eps 7&8 (i think), and Turner & Hooch at a local media exchange.

They also had Godfather Box Set for $10 and ET Special Edish boxed for $6 - thinking I should have bought them.

Well done, it's always a great feeling when you finally hold an elusive disc in your hands.

For me, the last LD I bought was the original "War of the Worlds". Before that one, it was "The Day the Earth Stood Still" Both are SciFi classic movies.

Went for a local CL post and bought a big stack of titles from a very friendly former collector who just wanted to free up space. We laughed about how you quickly run out of shelf space...

And my recent ebay pickup: The rare FHE US release of Speed Racer: Race Against Time/Fastest Car on Earth, one of only three US LD releases of episodes which I hope to use in my mad goal of restoring the series to having clear audio and video with original titles and no time compression.

Finally got myself a copy of THX . o O (Wow. Very test pattern. Such demo.)

I've also got a bunch of Astronomy-related discs on their way - several planetarium disks and Space Archive sorts of things. At least one of the planetarium discs has a generic Pioneer sleeve... with the new logo.

I have Mission Impossible: 2 and 007: The World is Not Enough on the way. I just wish my setup could do ac-3 audio (my CLD-99 can but that's it).
