The Japanese box set has the first two film edited into one (chronologically) if you would like to avoid part 3 like most people. that's how I remember watching the films on TV back in the day. Never really knew that it was a special cut of both films. I own the 3 film box set and was lucky to pick it up for around 15 bucks, but there are some tears on the spine. Really nice to watch them all in order ________________________________ the rein-o official signature:

Won this auction on YAJ. Its very interesting since there isn't any info on Tenchi Muyo rental disc on the site. Sadly, won't be able to get into the nitty gritty until I get it in a few months (Boat shipping yo!). It's prob. the same content as the original releases, but with a Rental OBI and stamp. Oh well. Not a bad price for the first OVA run + Sound File disc.

nissling wrote: I actually somewhat prefer part 3 over 2, so the complete trilogy is preferable imo. Also, watching them in chronological order (1901-1980) in one single sitting is awesome. Did it once when I first got my first LD player. If you have the Japanese Godfather saga, you can just put in 3 after the end of that, IIRC everything in 3 is after 2. on-topic: Just got some boxed Discovisions from mediaphile here. Very well packed and the condition was better than described

I agree, mediaphile is awesome. That's who I got my copy of "Diary of a Mad Housewife" from, among others. Today I got this in the mail: I love this movie, and I know there's likely much better versions out there, but it was very cheap, and this particular edition was of special interest to me for a reason: DISCOVISION IN DISGUISEThat and the LaserVision side bumpers are almost completely unique to this edition.

So two birds with one stone.

That and the LaserVision side bumpers are almost completely unique to this edition. When I first read that post I thought you wanted it because of the amusingly cut off film synopsis.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park...in glorious DTS format. I have all the hardware and cabling now, so as soon as the disc gets here I can enjoy Dinosaurs Eating People extra loud.

ace2184 wrote: forty-six-and-2, are there other MVC discs with covers like that? Do people still count them as Discovision discs? Pretty interesting if so, I never knew they variated from their original design. I think there are a few. LDDB shows a number of MVC discs manufactured by DiscoVision. I wouldn't really count them as DiscoVision titles, though, but I still found it interesting. I still plan to pick up a better version of the film on LD, however.
