Has been really busy the last couple of months, but got a chance to watch this one: Shadow of the Moon: Ritchie Blackmore

Hopefully, 2014 will give me some time to watch Laserdiscs and I should be rotating my players as well.

Now playing ELYSIUM (2013) dtsHDMA 7.1 / Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System

CAUTION! WARNING! It carries a dts bit BOMB.

The issue seems to be older Onkyo models such mine TX SH-875 and maybe many more.

What I have sussed out is mute the volume or turn it right down when pausing and resuming play a it won't send a SPIKE to trip off the AVR.

Two showings this afternoon in THX sound system cool film.

A classic. My wife and watch it yearly on Christmas day.

Meet Me in St. Louis: 50th Anniversary Edition (1944) [ML104754]

Really nice presentation. The recording sessions as an extra audio track are really cool. I don't think those are available on the DVD or Blu.

That's too funny since there is a whole scene about the 47 Ronin in the movie.

I just watched the Criterion Laserdisc of Yojimbo last night. The picture quality for the most part looked fantastic on my 32" LCD, but there was quite a few hair lines, scratches, cigaret burns etc infesting the print.

Ha. The Enforcer was tv freeview last night. Didn't watch it all as I have it bluray and haven't bothered to playing it. I have seen all the Dirty Harry films before I just like to hear the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix. The one on tv last night was one of the new mixes as it was in Dolby surround partly mostly panned and scanned, I prefer it in SCOPE. :)

my wife and I did the exact same 2 weeks ago. watched the hd-dvd first for our very first time then next day on release day went to see the second one. We liked them both. 1st one is a bit more special because steve carell wasn't famous when the film was showing. I think 40 year old virgin and the office later on made him the big star he is now and for that reason they gave him a much bigger part in the second one. There is a huge list a-list stars in cameo roles in the second one as well.

Watching some classic Peter Falk, Columbo tonight. Wow sure like these crime mystery shows.

Great production and sound mix on the shows.
Picture quality has no faults.

DIE HARD LD with cream soda in Dolby AC-3 THX sound system.
Set the SDDS to +4db for a bit more JBL Just Bloody Loud at 01:30am.

11.79db (not quit 14 from reading elsewhere) but it is considerably higher from previous setting at -10db Have to keep the fader down a bit -27.2db on the exploding building and I can still hear it loud and clear and turn up on the softer parts to -22.3db.

Absolutely like the CAV side for action scenes.

Recently showing STAR TREK NEMESIS (2002) Dolby Stereo Digital / Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System.

Wow the Dolby mix on this has fine quality to it. Phasers fan out when the Enterprise tries to hit its target Shinzon in cloaked ship.

It was STAR TREK but not sure where it went wrong? I thought it was an STAR TREK not as great as STAR TREK II The Wrath Of Khan, but still not bad going Trek for under 2 hours.

Picked this one up for $40. Watched parts of all 3 movies and it appears to be the corrected release, complete, in decent shape, and is rot free. :D
