We all talk about rot, now, what movie has you watched and have said, dang, that looks perfect. I was recently watching Return of the Living Dead 3 - Unrated of course - Mindy Clarke - I dont have to say anything else. Anyway, was pumping it through a 37 inch wega and it was perfect. No blemishes, no glitches, just awesomeness. I did the same thing for the Encore version of Demons - Just perfection. Anyway, there are my examples!

The best picture and sound LD I ever watched (hand on heart) was: Michael W. Smith: Change Your World Live (1993) [66338-6]It just blew me away how crystal clear and sharp the picture was. This particular laserdisc says on the disc that it is a limited edition. I have no idea what that translates to in terms of number of pressings made, however I have never seen another copy for sale anywhere. Does anyone else own it?

Going from memory, back when I had a SD tube TV, it was the MGM 25th anniversary edition of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was CAV, and the transfer was taken from the 70mm negative. I recall that it was a beautiful picture. I sold the disc years ago, so I can't confirm that.
Lately, now that I have an CRT HDTV, only the Criterion CAV versions of old technicolor films look good, like Scaramouche and Singin' in the Rain, for example. The Criterion Box set of Rebecca also looks good.
