Just thought I would give an update to everyone on my recent additions to my collection. Some of the titles I recently purchased are as follows...

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare(Sealed, and has the 3-D glasses included. Price about 13 bucks)
The Keep(Widescreen Edition, got the price jacked up to high heaven on E Bay..price a way too high 100 clams...)
Robocop(The Criterion Edition. Price a crazy low 3 bucks)
The Terminator(Widescreen THX Edition. Price a Dollar.)
Tron: Archive Collection(Near mint, for 20 bucks.)
Creepshow(Widescreen for 16 bucks)
Creepshow 2(Pan & Scan for 4.95)
Back To The Future(Widescreen, sealed for 0.99)
Back To The Future Part III(Widescreen for 9.99)
Dawn Of The Dead(Elite Director's Cut Edition for 15 bucks)

There are more than I got at a thrift store but they're not marquee titles.

Anyway, that's my recent haul. Thank god I have job so I can pay for my new love of LDs. So how did you think I did? Did I get any good deals? How over the mark was the price of The Keep?

Thanks for reading, and long live the LD!

At those sorts of prices you can't go wrong.

In the UK where I reside there is are just no LDs to buy at all really, never mind cheap ones! It is Ebay or ship from US or Japan.
You therefore need to be prepared to dig deep into your wallet for even the most basic disc title as LDs are heavy and expensive to ship.
That is the case for most of my collection. I remember thinking at one point I could have probably bought a second house for less than I spent on laserdiscs!
If you're married, the best advice I can give is don't tell the wife how much you spend!

I always get the collections, lol. I dont look at expensive prices because it is a game to me. I just got 41 Laserdiscs for 80 bucks delivered and there were copies of the Wraith and Battle Beyond the Stars and the Dungeonmaster, lol. Nice buy on the discs though! Sometimes you gotta get the stuff like that. If you want it now, you do what you gotta do :)

skip the wife, that will only give you more money left over for more lasers!

how cares how much you spend on lasers, as long you can afford rent and food. All my friends have 0$ left on their accounts each month and don't buy anything useful, at least I got some discs extra in my bookcase =).

I would also like to own the keep, I actually got the japanese 4:3 edition but i want the widescreen edition as well. At least you can laugh at the cheap suckers who didnt afford bidding over you at 100$ =)

Nice, I have a copy of the Criterion Robocop, pretty cool disc. Nice score. I think I just am way to cheap. I need to step it up a little. But then it wouldnt be a game. My wife, bless her soul has given me an unlimited laserdisc account! Pretty cool stuff. Though I have to sell half of what I buy and so far it has worked out well!

Why was Creepshow WS so high ($16)? Is there anything special about that release?

I think that is the only way you can get it WS. The dvd is full screen. I could be wrong.

Nah, the DVD is WS. Probably just asking more because of it being a horror laserdisc.

Wow, I keep telling myself I'll quit buying LDs for a little bit and save some moolah, and I keep making bids on E Bay, thinking it wouldn't hurt, it's not like I'll actually win these items...Well, my luck has been pretty good lately as I've scored a new bunch of LDs like....

Child's Play 1-3 for 23 bucks
Prototype X29A(A obscure terminator clone for 12 bucks)
The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane(Really wanted that one, so 25 bucks sounds fair to me..)
Curse II: The Bite(Japanese release with OBI for 13 bucks)
Deep Red(The Michael Biehn one not Dario Argento's for 13 bucks)
The Runestone(Widescreen edition a film that's not on DVD for 13 bucks)
and
T2: The Special Edition Box Set(Silver Edition for 10 bucks)

and I am currently winning my bid on the Back To The Future Trilogy Box Set from Japan(In stellar condition with obi and everything) and also winning bids on Highway To Hell, Rampage, and The Perfect Weapon.

Feel free to share any of your recent purchases if you'd like. And about the Creepshow LD I bought it overseas, and I think it's harder to find because it's a Warner Bros. release, and not very many horror film titles were released under their watch..
