![]() If it takes you more than 30 seconds (like it did me) to figure out which one looks better, there's no difference. I know you guys are videophiles so I'll probably take a lot of heat, but there's really no difference in my eyes. I think it's more of a feel-good thing like installing a better flowing air box on a sports car. in theory yes it's supposed to make it more powerful, but the difference is so minute that you can't even notice it |

I think it's more of a feel-good thing like installing a better flowing air box on a sports car. in theory yes it's supposed to make it more powerful, but the difference is so minute that you can't even notice it I remember the exact AVS post that images is from. It wasn't meant to disprove that comb filters matter, it was a comparison of the X-0's comb filter and the Entech SVSI-1. The guy who posted that is Fudoh, in another thread he goes on to show how he obtained better results with comb filtering by using a Pioneer DVR. Comb filters aren't subject to very opinionated debate like vinyl vs CD or whether obscenely expensive interconnects improve performance. Comb filter performance is scientifically provable. Simply pop in your copy of Video Essentials or A Video Standard, go to the Snell & Wilcox pattern, and the image will change depending on the comb filter being used. Also, comb filters are meant only to seperate the luma and chroma signals. A comb filter will not increase resolution, increase contrast, decrease noise, etc. |

hi, to be honest, the first one is the best in my eyes as it is the sharpest amongst these three. the rest both show some sort of blur when looking at the white dots of shirt. just my two cents. |

You easily demonstrate actual comb filter performace yourself by using different filters and using the above mentioned snell and wilcox pattern. The pattern changes dramatically depending on the filter. |
