Some of mine that still play perfect are Saturday Night Fever, Olivia in concert & Physical, Somewhere in Time from MCA videodisc plays like new. A lot of Paramounts play good but there are exceptions like Death Wish & original pressing of Stalag 17 which were full of laser rot you just never know till you play them. |

I have original 1/2 thickness single sided test pressings of several titles which were produced in early 1977 that still play great. I put "Day of the Jackal" on a couple of months ago. |

My copy of Jaws (1975) [12-001] still plays really well, though sides 2 and 4 sometimes take some convincing to get going, once they do though they play fine. |

Despite all the rumours about the lack of quality control in the Carson plant, there still were some great pressings of the original discovision titles. You usually need to buy about 3-4 copies of each title to get a good one though but they do exist. I've decent copies of virtually all the music discovision titles. |

Hard to find test discs now, seems that most are in collections already. |

My oldest discs are my Buick Dealership showroom discs, all from 1980 and 1981. They seem to suffer from Laser Lock on my CLD-D704, where the last few minutes on the discs seem to play at super speed. I'm assuming it's a CAV related thing as I had it happen to me once while watching my CAV copy of Little Mermaid. Just started playing the frames wayyyy to fast and starts repeating at a certain point. My oldest well playing disc though is my copy of My Bloody Valentine from 1982. |

If the disc is close to the limits of the specification, & the player is a little out as well, the interaction can cause this effect. |

Have to agree, many Discovision titles play great. In fact most of the 81-82 discs do as well, but every once in a while you'll find rot in either the picture or the sound, but another copy of the same pressing will play great. One of my favs is the Discovision copy of Duel that looks incredible. Ron |

My Discovision of Fellini's Casanova, first few minutes is a little rough. Playing on a CLD 980. Maybe a better player would help. Also Disco of Jaws and Jaws 2. I have an HD version of Fellini's Casanova on DVR, trying to think of a way of getting it off of there. Casanova was never released on Laserdisc or DVD R1. Aired on Direct TV a few weeks ago. It was the subtitled English version. |
