I am not sure if this is allowed here, if it isn't I'm sorry. I am on a mission to craft the "perfect" edition of Fantasia. For most of the video, there's blu ray. For the Sunflower scenes, I got an HD film transfer. This can be inserted in the blu ray footage. This leaves audio. The best edition for audio is this release: Fantasia: Special Edition (1940) [1236 CS]Not only does it feature Deems Taylor's voice, but the LD audio is closer to Fantasound than the DVD (blu ray audio mix completely destroyed it) Is there anyone here with the ability to get me that? Would appreciate this so much. Thanks!

I take it you would want the Dolby Surround soundtrack on the digital tracks rather than the Stereo soundtrack on the analog tracks? Basically, yes to those. signofzeta wrote: Do you like Star Wars? I do. I know for Star Wars there's tons of versions that restore the original (Harmy despecialized, HD transfers from film, semi specialized etc). Even for Song of the South there are so many different releases. All those are great. But I don't know why the same love for Star Wars and Song of the South is not shown for Fantasia. Best I found for Fantasia, the 2000 DVD copy with VHS-looking Sunflower bits re inserted (though re inserted VERY well).

I didn't know this, please elaborate. I will do a google search now also. There was a scene I heard of that is missing on The 5000 Fingers Of Dr. T. It was one of the floors in the dream sequence, there was a person who contacted me back in the day when I bought the LD on ebay. Sent a PM asking if I know anything, but he gave me lots of info and I believe he even had a site with some giveaways like a hat with the hand on top etc.

rein-o wrote: Oh you mean versions of Song Of The South that have been released to the public, not like a cut scene, rather a different audio mix or such. Basically yes I meant all the different versions. Though the Notelu's Restoration is basically a mix. Quote: ok. Never heard of it till now.

I mean, the narration being replaced was BS for sure but what is so bad video-wise about the flower scene or...what? I realize now that I’ve probabky only ever seen this movie on LD seven though I also have the DVD. I have both CAV and CLV versions of this era of Fantasia. Audio will be identical. At the moment I don’t have a player with a Digital out though.

I am referring to the censored scenes in the Pastoral Symphony. These are cut from the VHS and LD and panned out in the DVD and blu ray. You can find the full uncut version on youtube.
