Newbie to LD, just got a Pioneer CLD-1200 as my first player. Timecop and The Fruit is Ripe on their way to me courtesy of eBay.

Nice, hope you enjoy it.
Remember to turn those settings down lower than you would expect or off on your TV set to get a better picture.

The long anticipated arrival from Japan. Thanks to excellent packing from Mr. Koji it arrived in very good condition. Appears to have all physical supplements too. I will be watching it tonight.

That's a nice set, if you ask me one of the better transfers of anime to LD.
There is more CG then I prefer in that but thats another story.

To this day I haven't seen the 2.0 version. I wasn't even going to bother with it.

would that be the Lord of the Rings on Laserdisc? I wouldn't mind getting the Hobbit one on LaserDisc as I love that one the most.

You know I had bought some postcards once from Canada and after 2 months the guy gave me credit or something???
At the time I was still buying from him and this was early on before any of the real scammers.

Anyway about 3 months later, 5 total, it came in the mail one day.

Found a used/retro Video Game shop outside of Trenton NJ that had pretty big stash of used LDs. Dude had a lot I wanted to buy, but the guy was charging way too much for them. Ended up just getting this for $20 . . .

I had to buy this twice because the seller on eBay sent me a cracked copy. Luckily I stumbled across this a goodwill in KY a few years. Made the first one an album art though I did throw the disc away.

I just received a laserdisc lot from ebay (and it's been a while since I purchased a lot). c. 25 titles - most of them mint in shrinkwrap! Here goes:

Speed
Lethal Weapon 2
It Happened One Night
The Net
Nashville
The Client
K2
Muriel's Wedding
Men Don't Leave
In the Line of Fire
Conspiracy Theory (5.1)
Moon Over Parador
Sgt. Bilko
Compromising Positions
Michael Collins
In the Name of the Father
The Last Supper
Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (W.C. Fields Collection)
Nell
The War
Blame It On The Bellboy
Marlene Dietrich Double Feature
Flesh and Bone
True Love
The River
He Said, She Said

A good mix, I suppose. Some standbys, some I've never heard of, and a few B&W classics. And with shipping about 34 USD so not much more than a buck per disc.

I don't think the seller was a scammer, but I suppose it's possible. I hold out hope that it will show up some day, but in the meantime I'm back in the market for The Matrix on LD. Currently zero copies in LDDb stores. :(

Oh no, I wasn't saying that they were, I was trying to say that my situation was before any scammers.
Sorry about that.
Things do still get lost in the mail, we are dealing with individuals, lets not forget.

I just had an issue where I asked the post office to hold my mail for a few days, when I got all my mail I was missing two packages that said were at the post office.
So when I asked them the 3rd time they got another person and found them in the back on a different shelf and she asked if I had my mail held

I got Project A-Ko 4 Final in the mail the other day. It was a US seller so it’s all dingy but not too bad and the price was nice. I now have at least one edition of each of the “real” A-Kos. I never cared one bit for the Versus ones.

If any other episodes than part 2 are available as “Dual Disc” (isolated OST) I want those and I need a real JP version of the first one.

While I've been reading and posting under this topic I never did say what I picked up recently.
Not much on my radar, looking for anime that isn't on DVD in USA or Japan.

Picked this one up Why Me? (1990) [59316]
So far its not on any other format, its an OK film and is a nice almost direct to video transfer.
Worth it if you need to have more comedy's in your collection.

No copy on eBay either and the recent trend is quite scary:

Dec 2018 - $175
Jan 2019 - $250
Feb 2019 - $300
