All Ford Video LDs added!

https://www.lddb.com/search.php?search=ford+video&sort=title,ASC&max=250

That took a while because I wanted to clean up and normalize all titles, references, and comments.

I can see a few that already are, but I'd rather add titles we know for sure exist and have seen a copy in existence (even if it's on an auction site).

Already hard to double-confirm these, let's not add more ghosts :-)

No worries! I'll be buying them when I can, in the meantime I have some GMC Dealership Laserdiscs coming in shortly that I'll be digitizing and adding to the database.

She pops up all over the Ford Service discs. For fun, you should try to find a Sony LDP-2000 with a data-dump (Level II) board in it so you can watch them with the programming intact.

Would a LD-V6000A or LD-V8000 work as well?

Unfortunately no. The Sony and Pioneer Level II dumps are not compatible. There are some discs which have both kinds of dumps (Chrysler Motor discs for example). Early GM discs are Pioneer PR7820 only, the rest are LD-V6000/LD-V8000, Ford are Sony. Some of the Ford discs are part of the IVLS system. These discs use a combination of Level II dumps plus PC program data (Level III) as well as Digital Audio capture. Digital Audio capture is pretty neat actually, there is binary audio data encoded in the video signal. Think of different QR codes encoded on each video frame.

I have around 125 Ford titles and an equal number of GM titles. I have never found a complete listing of titles from any of the automobile dealership titles.

Aaaand we're back.

Been a little busy with trying to purchase my first home (even sold off one of my RLV's, and about 200 bulk laserdiscs to help with the process) but here we are with another Ford Laserdisc.

They apparently used Technidisc to one-up early GM's Discovision pressings re failure ;) (GM followed suit in using Technidisc, IIRC...)

I have an Engine Noise Diagnosis that suffers from rot... and doesn't have CX.

You will almost never find CX on 'industrial' titles. And they won't include Digital Sound either. I've also found the quality of industrial titles somewhat lacking. This is true for titles from 3M, Technidisc and Pioneer. I don't think I've ever come across an industrial title that was flat.

Alright, double feature tonight.

1989 Ford Probe

1984 Overhauling Diesel Engines

Starting with the 1984 Overhauling Diesel Engines, I'll be reuploading the dozen or so Ford Laserdiscs on the Internet Archive originally digitized by Kernal86.

I've never had any of these videos monetized, as I don't own them to begin with, I've only been uploading these for preservation purposes.

Enjoy!
