Double feature night, this time one here, and one for GM.

Here's 1982's Power Flow in the Automatic Transaxle

When I trained as a mechanic (GM sponsored school) the “E” versions of GM’s Hydramatic gearboxes were still being made (similar era/product). The power flow was very well illustrated in these books we had. The sort of extremely well laid out drawings that simply DO NOT exist in the age of CAD.

What stands out in my mind at the time was that I had almost zero knowledge of automatic transmissions other than how to drive one. The power flow, the valve body, and by my time the electronics added on, together seemed like something insurmountably complex.

By the end of the class though I had the thing memorized and amazingly I *still* use the information. I work in auto dev, third parties usually, and no matter what company I work for I seem to always end up working on HUMVEE crap and guess what? When GM finally dumped this dinosaur AM General bought the designs of this trans and even now use it in the most fully evolved HUMVEE. It’s also the number one gearbox in drag racing but IMHO drag racing sucks so I don’t know a lot about that.

Anyway, thanks so much for these uploads.

Alright Folks, last of the Ford laserdiscs for awhile! I'm working on digitizing a bunch of odd Karaoke discs and limited batch 3M discs for upload soon!

Enjoy!

We had a whole bunch of parody videos in France back in the late 90's that recycled old weird American training videos but with a completely different voice-over (of course!).

I found one with English subtitles to give you an idea:

Still trying to work up the energy to record some new things, but I've been getting some nice out of context clips to post.

I'm still pretty garbage at making music, but here was my attempt to make some Lofi using some samples from my Ford Laserdiscs.

On a personal note, I'll eventually set my recording equipment back up and get some new laserdiscs digitized, but my life has been a living hell for the past month or so, I just don't have the energy.

Thank you guys so much for the kind words, really needed that pick me up.

I wasn't really happy with how the song turned out so I basically removed 70% of it and redid it, this time with proper looping and just a better mix altogether. Would you all be interested if I made a full Laserdisc Lo-Fi Album using a bunch of my samples?

A while back I added an entry for a 1985 Lincoln-Mercury laserdisc and uploaded it to youtube. Thought you guys would enjoy.

Unfortunately the 1st side is so rotted that it stopped playing at the correct speed when I started digitizing it and wouldn't get past a certain point no matter what I did due to a crack in the disk. I think there's a lower quality version of it uploaded by testdrivejunkie but it's watermarked and unlisted.

I found another one of these. Man these technidisc pressings have horrible rot. This one was sealed and it looks terrible.
