So that is Willis doing standup? He's a funny guy. I remember him on Letterman not too far in the distant past promoting his "new album" "Songs in the Key of Bruce"

I think that's his live band/singing career that didn't go anywhere.

The term I like to use is “Blues Hammer” although it didn’t exist yet when this was made.

No it’s him live in concert.
A ton of fun.

The bit I was talking about was a fake album prop made for the sit down with Letterman. They just went through the jokey song titles.

Local purchases. Some have arrived, most are still to be packed and delivered.
Without going the import route, it's relatively uncommon that we see any type of LD's in this neck of the woods.

That ben hur set and godfather set is on my watch list.

Any quality difference between those two T2 boxsets?

AFAIK, this was part of a collection from a local guy here in Johannesburg. That also included four combo players. I know one of them is a DVL-919. Not sure about the other 3.

If I may ask, what would a 919 go for nowadays? Let's say the condition is excellent, both functionally and cosmetically. Included is the remote.
I've read that the 919 has its "shortcomings" but bear in mind that over here we are not blessed with much choice. It would certainly be an upgrade from my current Sony unit.
And also, the bonus here for me would be that I wouldn't have to factor in overseas shipping costs.

I would buy that sucker for sure. If it’s right there in front of you then it can’t get smashed in transit.

In my part of the world that’s a $200-300 unit but unless he’s asking crazy money I’d just buy it. It’s a very good player in any part of the world.

I haven't given those lasers a spin yet to talk of any differences wrt image quality of each set. I'm sure there must be a detailed description here on these boards.

In terms of packaging/content? The one with the gold 'T2' logo has a very nice type of faux-leather shell.

BTW, that Godfather set in the pic is actually not the one I bought. The seller sent me the 25th Anniversary Ed. but the one I wanted was the Trilogy set, where the movies are played in chronological order. No word yet though as to whether I'll be getting that one.

Yeah that's the one. 5-disc set. The movie is on four discs and the other contains the "Ben Hur: The Making of an Epic"

Cheers!
The 'bomb-squad' 6-2 bench split worked wonders for us.

But as Rassie pointed out, we may have won the tournament but we are under no illusion as to which team is considered the premier side in Rugby. The AB's are our biggest rivals and play at a level that we always aspire to.
