That is a pretty cool bundle you have bagged teddanson.

The IMAGE POPS LD.... got one of them (Vol 3 Science Fiction) & it has no audio, you pop it into the player & stick some music on while watching it!?!

There were six issued, think you have the Sports one there.

Enjoy spinning your new discs & love LDs like that, the more eclectic the better.

Cheers  .

Thanks! I don't like normal stuff.

I'm watching the Masayoshi Takanaka disc right now. It's from 1982, analogue only but the quality is excellent! The concert is filmed at Yokohama Stadium (home of the Yokohama DeNA Baystars baseball team).

The stadium was built in 1978 so was only built 4 years prior to this concert. There's some great helicopter shots of a busy Yokohama city in 1982 at night. The music is wonderful! Takanaka has a great ensemble for this gig. Plus it's being held in a baseball stadium, what's not to love about that?!

The Mind Control disc is very cool. From what the obi strip says there might be 10 volumes. I think it's refractive 3D but my.disc doesn't have glasses and no mention of it on the sleeve. I'll whip out a pair of refractive glasses from one of my Virtual Drug discs later to try it out.

Shakatak DaMakani is as good as I hoped it would be. The.sound quality is tremendous. Lots of awesome beach and surf scenes in Hawaii from 1988!

The Japanese Railroad Constitution disc is very odd. Lots of beautiful.scenery and laden with text and polite female voiceovers. A vertiable fiesta of terminal boredom. I love it!

The Jackie Chan Guardians film is a wonderful piece. I'll review it properly later. The 3D is done with the classic red and blue glasses. The film looks like a direct transfer of the film reels. It's a bit blurry, though that looks like a source issue rather than a mastering issue. The 3D is very crude and not all of it works 100%. But when it does work it is excellent. You won't find this anywhere else either and knowing how HK cinema is, the reels are probably long gone. If you can find a copy, just buy it. A great curio.

Just back to this Masayoshi Takanaka disc. If you like.music or concert discs, for the love of God just get this disc. It's absolutely incredible!

Have you ever seen a bloke firing actual lasers out of the neck of his guitair? No? WELL YOU HAVE NOW!

Not tried the rest of the discs yet and 21 more discs to come tomorrow in the ¥1 special!

the ¥1 special!.... is that the lot with the motorsport LDs?

You have bagged some really cool discs, enjoy.

Would love to hear how you get on with the motorsport discs, there are a few of them I have not seen - again enjoy.

Cheers  .

I just got some music LDs

Image Image Image

I'm kind of a Yes fan, but never really paid much attention to Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe. Even though their music was closer to what Yes used to put out be than what Chris Squire was putting out at the time--but it still isn't that great. Only good song/video on that disc is "Order of the Universe."

Mostly got the Rock N Roll Greatest Years LD for the Stevie Wonder "Superstition" video. I'll never understand why things like The Carpenters, Tony Orlando and Gilbert O'Sullivan are included in Rock n Roll compilations. Then again, you got Hip Hop, Rap and R&B artists included in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame these days. Makes no sense.

Last one I didn't know existed, so I'm curious to see how Lenny Kravitz and Terence Trent D'Arby performed some Lennon songs.

Here is the contents of the 1 Yen special. There are some.great discs here, especially the rally stuff and classic Monaco footage.

I watched the Manx Rally II Vol 4 disc and saw that Ari Vatanen is on it driving his Group B Opel Manta 400GP. Specifically at the 1983 RAC Rally. I was hoping the famous "dear God!!" footage would be included but sadly it wasn't the correct stage.

Here's the discs. There's loads, and all for ¥1! :D

I am so green with envy here (in a nice way!!).

That is one very tasty bundle there.

There are a few not listed here & a couple I have never seen before.

Enjoy good sir, If I had received them I would be in LD spinning heaven for quite a while.

Thanks! Yes I saw on some of the LDDB entries I can help out and add missing data. I'll make sure to do that. I watched some of the Driver's Eyes Monaco disc today. That was excellent quality, I also liked how the /R channel has just the engine sounds and strips out the Japanese voice over track. A nice touch!

Gave the Guitarhythm disc a go and that was very cool. It has a 3D configuration intro at the start of the disc with a colour bar test and a wireframe 3D test video before the feature starts.

Two songs and the intro video are in 3D. It is REALLY well done and very effective. A great disc if you can get a copy.

That is very quick indeed. It often takes considerably longer when just shipping within Europe especially so from west to east etc.

Only at the beginning of the pandemic ( in the spring ) I experienced delays. But everything streamlined in the summer and haven’t had a single delay only lightning fast deliveries.

Post subject:  Re: What was the last laserdisc you bought?

Pretty sure Japanese sellers are still refusing to ship here on the cheap. Only DHL etc and the shipping prices make everything not worth buying at the moment. A pity as there's always something interesting and if you poke around you can see ok prices, even on ebay. The shipping just kills it though :(
"Sorry Japan Post is not shipping to your country" etc.
I've had several cancelled purchases over the last few months, most were Japanese sellers but one was German and another was in the UK (incorrectly listed shipping cost).

Funny thing about Japan is that I sent some chocolate there a few months back no problem at all, just regular auspost with tracking.

I am using a proxy service and paying normal airmail prices. So no special and more expensive services.

Right now it is four complete months waiting for a totally paid including shipping order. Due to virus postal cancellations they told me to pay another more expensive shipping method i said no cause it was already paid by me before SAL method went out.
The automatized processing of the articles is frozen but the storage charges are virtually going up

Post subject:  Re: What was the last laserdisc you bought?

Oh...that's not good! So they're expecting you to pay further postage charges with no chance of reimbursement of the original shipping costs? If so I'm in total agreement with your stance as you've paid the full amount in good faith for their advertised services and it should be up to them to honour their side of the deal regardless. I've yet to use a Japanese proxy service and your experience has now made me rather wary of ever doing so, I really hope matters do work out in your eventual favour and please keep us informed of how things turn out for you.

I was going to try zenmarket once but can't do the pay them they hold onto my money and then keep paying the credit card company until I win what I want.

Buyee may be a little more but less headaches, last order that I'm still waiting on due to boat mail is on its way but they didn't charge any
storage fees at all.

Good luck Ertoili

Thanks for reminding me to never ever come near them. I have been using buyee for years and not a single hick-up. And especially not during the pandemic. They ship instantly. The only time I experienced delays were this spring when packages sat some time at the post offices in Japan probably because there were little to no flights out of the country to my destination.
