Just got these from a very nice seller here in sweden. I have never seen these in japan before but that might have been becouse I have never looked for them. some cool ads in them, together with all the releases of that year ? (or up to that year, not really sure). Sorry for the bad quality.

Hello Johan

LD express, thats the title of these very handy catalogues, you could find them very easy in Japan, got several of them and are a must have for LD collectors as you find all releases and cover pictures (although small) and loads of reviews.

The recent that has a full back cataloge is the 1993 one, later onces only have maximum the most recent year of releases.

Got them up to 1999 (at that moment with a lot of DVD releases next to the LDs)

Same type of catalogues where released in france on a yearly basis by Les Annees Laser, also very handy if you are into french LDs

used to pick up those Image Preview catalogs anytime I would see them at Suncoast Pictures stores. I lost all of them in a fire though.

I remember seeing a few titles therein that were announced but never released, like Le Samourai.

I have not actually collecting them, what exists from time to time, I just want to know what is on the cover.
Thanks.

Hey cold_sleeper,

Thank you for sharing these items on this forum . . . .Quite Nostalgic to say the least.

I used to collect the WideScreen Review magazines from the US, as I was fascinated by the various articles on Laserdisc v DVD comparisons, news of Digital VHS, Talk of ''at the time'' two new format's called HD-DVD & Blu-Ray, and the various videofiles demanding that the format should be 1080P and not 1080i.

Others at the time debating weather the resolution would be good enough at 720P, because they were saying that the added res wouldn't be noticable. . . . . .ya di ya.....the rest is history.

The content of the mag was very different and went more in depth than many others.

I tore out various articles and kept them in a scrap book especially the ELITE 91, 97 & 99 Laserdisc players that I wanted, and now finally own.

They were great days to be honest The Laserdisc days were special and the people who purchased them, it was uniquely different. . . . .and the whole experience was a pleasure.

To be honest it still is, as I look forward to my next LD order ''Getting excited'' in fact it's been a long time coming.

Regards to you all

Cool, thanks for posting those titles! Never knew these magazines existed as LaserDisc was not that successful in Germany so there haven't been any local magazines specially devoted to LD. Think I will keep an eye on it and see if I find some of those...

In France, a monthly magazine "Les Annees Laser" exists (today DVD/BluRay), with a special yearly catalogue

You're right and I feel exactly.
A day like this would come at that time did not even imagine.

Japanese Fanzine when there was no Internet or DVD yet.
