Holy moly how expensive is this disc? Has anyone seen a copy for sale? Is the LD worth buying, assuming you have $2500 to drop on it? How many copies were produced, one?

It's just dumb people driving up the prices for no discernible reason. Yes, they are less common in the marketplace - because around the time it, Matrix and several other titles came out, DVD had already become established enough that LD sales were reducing significantly, so much fewer copies were sold. That's why The Phantom Menace is the odd one out, there was no simultaneous DVD release so far more copies were sold and it's probably the most common/cheapest of the year 2000 releases.

If I wanted to buy a copy of 6th Day, I'd probably just get the original DVD.

Jeff has it to stream for 'free' if you subscribe to his delivery service thing. I'm keen to watch it after listening to the latest Film Stories podcast last night. Tin Cup too.

The BD is cheap and very sufficient so does it make sense to spend on the LD? Not really but it's like Zeta said no one is buying these expensive LDs for the content.

I saw the DVD for a buck at the thrift store, the one sidekick is really annoying and I never like any films hes in, rappaport?

Anyway I think the buck was too much for such a film.

Its 6th day people.

There's a reason Eraser is considered the endpoint for peak Arnie.

Just watched the film tonight courtesy of Jeff. He's done well with audio, a nice DD+ track that sounds really good especially towards the end. Good job young Jeffrey.

What a crap film though. It's so far up it's own arse trying to be clever it ends up embarrassing itself. The main bad guy is about as threatening as Pope Gregory the 9th.

It all felt really dated too, and this is year 2000 effects we're talking here. Everything had a TiVo and Apple Pippin interface style to it. Also what's with the mid-90's 'tude style of acting for the main gang chasing Arnie? At times I felt like I was watching Double Dragon.

It's just not quality Arnold fodder at all for my liking. Glad i didn't buy the Blu. More fool the folks dropping $2500 on the LD of it too.

Agree with you takeshi666, I quite enjoyed Eraser. I would mark it down as the beginning of the end of peak Arnster. It's not a classic, but it's got enough quality Arnoldness to it to satisfy the fans. True Lies is perhaps 'true' peak Arnold?

The only movie of his I can stand to watch now is T2 so that’s probably the peak.

I personally can't stand the young boy in T2 or any Cameron films, keep the kids out.
Kids really ruin films for me, W.C. Fields was right.

Anyway early arni is good and T2 is the turning point for me. Did see a film recently with the arnster and slyster that was OK
but it just has the feel of filling everything that the fanboy wants or needs just like chinese buffet

Not a Total Recall fan?

I always liked the first Terminator best, I like the dark atmosphere and Arnold is actually terrifying in that one. He actually seems like a cold as ice cybernetic assassin from the future. It's more a horror film than action to me.

T2 is ok, but too much comic relief from Arnie when he's supposed to be a terminator and I'm with rein-o, can't stand the kid! The shape shifting T-1000 seems a little over the top, too.

T1 over T2 all day long for me.

Violent. Bleak. Cold. Relentless. Proper, full-fat, full beans Arnold action!

T2 felt like a buddy movie to me and didn't suit the story at all. T1 is just pure, violent, unforgiving sci fi. T3 kind of veered back on track a little, I thought yer wan Kristina Loken was very good. The other films, well I've not seen Dark Fate but the others are muck.

T1 every time.

Yeah...I don’t really like violence much at all. I only said something nice about T2 because the FX are very good and it’s a super HQ LD. I honestly have zero appreciation of Arnold whatsoever as a person or as a terrible terrible actor. I think he’s a living infomercial for murder and one of the dumbest things about Hollywood crap.

The last movie was pretty good in my opinion. T3 was good too.

T2 FX were amazing at the time it came out. I saw it in the theaters, and that was the first time for that level of effects. I like all the T movies, but the T2 kid is a bit annoying, yeah. However, Linda more than makes up for that in becoming such a bada$$ mofo.

Total Recall, the original Arnie one, I love (the Colin Ferrel one is garbage) and Predator. Even more than terminator movies probably. I didn't really get into Eraser though. I have it on LD, and can barely remember what it is about, only watched it once. I think it arrived via columbia house LD club and i let it because it was Arnold.

I watched this on Kaleidescape yesterday. It was pretty good actually. Arnold’s one liners were great. I love the one he says you should clone yourself so you can screw yourself.

I agree with Tony. The sfx blends in very well with the film footage. I haven’t seen the LD (for the obvious reasons) but I think this movie would translate well into Ntsc because of its color timing, and sharpness. I think I got the Kaleidescape download for $10. The Bluray is probably cheaper. I don’t see much point buying the LD unless you like to collect expensive LDs.
