Daigoro vs. Goliath (1971) [TLL 2181]

just watched this crazy one!

film is really clean, colors are a little off, seems like there is slightly more green in the first 1/4
of the film.

4:3 open matte or just shot as 4:3 to save money.
has trailer at the end of the film, the trailer is really blurry and poor quality compared to the film.

side 2 runs about 29.01 and unfortunately is in CLV, most of the monster fighting is on side 2

Film in in Japanese with no English.
More of a children’s film than the other adult oriented Monster films from Japan.

From what very little I can understand, it seems that there was a monster that was attacking a city
and was killed. They discovered the baby monster and put him on an island to feed and grow.

Then another monster comes from space and attacks the now slightly older Daigoro, he still can’t
Breathe fire but gets the hang of it, but by the end of the film he defeats the monster,
which I assume is Goliath, (I never heard them say his name) and then strap him to a rocket ship and shoot
Him into space.

also there is a theme about Daigoro trying to use the bathroom and is accomplished in the last
scene with the two actors/supervisors crying and congratulating each other.

I believe I read somewhere that the Daigoro suit was made from parts of the Ultraman monster Red King.

You gotta love that monster sized toilet stall. This is such a super fun film!!!

thanks for posting that, it's a great one, i bought it about 2 years ago and never watched it.
so i thought last night was the time i had to do it.
setup my projector and the shots were from my 80 inch screen.

for some reason my camera won't get too sharp of shots from the projector.
i may try my girlfriend camera for the next film.

i really loved the large prop/sets of the monsters hands, feet and mouth.
also that toilet at the end is pretty amazing, you get to see it when the doors are open
