i think it's a great pressing, after watching it again years later, i saw it again last year.
it's the weaker film in the trilogy, but still fun.
only if those ewoks were in less of the film, my girlfriend couldn't stand them chirping or doing whatever they do.

I still maintain that the fridge scene is no worse than the dinghy/parachute/sled scene in Temple of Doom :p

The FOX pressings of Star Wars look a lot more vibrant than the Faces editions I currently have. Is the picture overall better or do both editions have their good and bad points?

I'm only in for the Dolby Stereo mix as heard in the cinema and the whites of Hoth are whiter. Blue you just never see snow blue out in the middle of nowhere unless there happens to be a million street lights with blue colour gels stuck over the lights.

These are great reviews. Thanks for taking the time with these.

I have the DVDs which of course look awful on LCD. I was holding out hope for them with a CRT setup but after reading all the flurry of info here on the forums I just grabbed Duff's set. I would second your advice to buy now, because the gap between ebay prices and Duff's was abnormally large. It could just climb too, since people with all the toys and memorabilia will be after them the more that is known about it, not just LD collectors/viewers.

People survive falling out of planes. Its happened...countless times. Nobody has ever survived having their atoms split. That's hard to recover from :)
