Mama, Do You Remember (Proof of the Man) (1977) [PILD-1118]wow, heavy drama that only the Japanese can make.
uncut version of the film, from what i read this was also released in a cut version with dubbing in the USA on VHS.
film is about a Japanese Detective Yûsaku Matsuda, trying to solve a case of an Black American who was murdered.
While trying to solve this case another girl is killed by a hit and run driver who ends up being the son of the main lead Koichi Iwaki.
After having flashbacks as a child during WWII about his father being murdered by GI’s
He then has to go to America and team up with an American Detective George Kennedy who ends up being the man who killed his father in Japan.
Then they find out that the mother killed her son who was half Japanese and half Black.
She commits suicide.
after the belongings are sent back to America George Kennedy takes the Belongings to the American father, he finds out that he has died.
Upon leaving the building he too is stabbed and killed.
pretty crazy that all end up dead in the end other than the Japanese Detective.
