Crimson Tide (1995) [12156 AS]

Summertime box-office hit from the makers of "TOP GUN" comes a deep white knuckle submarine action, starring Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington.

Cracking dialouge and deep charging sound effects rumbles the waves for cracking 116mins. Presented in dts 6 channel at 20bit / 1235kbps.

Film to video transfer is near good besides from some mild bright flash-lights on one of the scenes where it points directly at the camera but with video, it produces a mild green around the light. The rest of the image/picture holds up very well.

Lots of low end support on 6 channels.

The dialouge that takes place with this scene remains clear with each performer yelling at each other over the orders to launch or to verify if the orders are correct?

The skin tone looks nice.

Owning several versions on optical disc DVD extended version and bluray and which do I reach for? You got it the Laserdisc. Both versions have same colour tone, the detail on the bluray is nice but I prefer the Laserdisc for quick jog-shuttle reverse on action moments.

Extras: "The Making of Crimson Tide" is what Laserdisc was good for its day.

Theatrical Trailer. Nice bit of Terminator 2 music mixed into the trailer that cuts into the score from Crimson Tide.

Boy it's been a while since I last posted on this site
laserbite34

Thank you for sharing pictures of ''Crimson Tide'' I also have this DTS title and to be honest it's one of my favorite movies, edge of your seat stuff.

I may play this again soon, now that your post has reminded myself of how good this is.

Kind Regards
