True Lies (1994) [8640-85]

Hadn't ever gotten to see this before. It's a decent picture that tends to go way over the top and is far too long for it's own good.

The DTS version has a different master without the EE and it's audio was made from the printmaster along with the DVD according to disclord.

This disc has lots of EE, but to be honest I didn't see it so much due to the noise reduction in my DVL-700 which I used to hear the ac3.

Both get a pass from me, but I wasn't really wowed by the audio. Apparently they remixed it a bit for this, the second ever ac3 release.

Video: 3 out of 4. No rot and a clean transfer.
Audio: 3 out of 4 for the Ac3. Good and serviceable with some good usage of surround but not enough.

I have the DTS version of this title and it sounds amazing.

I would like to purchase the AC3 version at some point to compare the sound.

Movie wise it is what it is and to be honest the action keeps one captivated, the humor is also funny.

A great reference in sound quality, and I remember this being demoed at the retailers........The Harrier jump Jet sequence was awesome!
