As an avid reader of Anime UK (later to become Anime FX) and Manga Mania way back in the 1990's, one anime title was mentioned regularly but, thanks to the trickle of locally released content and the outrageous expense of imported goods from Japan, I never got to see Kimagure Orange Road. I thought it was a series about the man from Del Monte. Anyway, I got to see some of it on VRV recently, from the Blu Ray release. Decided to sample a few episodes and see what all the fuss was about. I wish I'd seen it years earlier. It's so good! The theme song is like the 80's vomited all over it for starters. It's excellent. Some of the content hasn't aged well and probably comes off as a little sexist or non-pc but I think the content is quite humorous. I like the overweight cat, he reminds me of What's Michael?. Definitely going to get the Blu Ray of KOR soon. I'd go for the laserdiscs but what's the point when the HD version looks and sounds so great? Any other folks here enjoy KOR?

I never got to watch this one, did see a later or last special a few months ago on streaming for free. Seems like a thing I may like but I just started on disc 3 of Galaxy Express 999 and probably won't get around to Road anytime soon. Trying to keep away from new TV series, just don't have the time to focus on them, can't even get to disc 2 of Only Fools

It's like ordering an Emperor Burger and getting given a Cheeseburger. @lons_vex thanks for the information. I've had that digipack LD/CD set in mind for a long time. It commands money I'm not prepared to pay for it right now though. I'd be keen maybe to get a couple of the CD's or maybe an LP though. Definitely the Blu Ray as the quality looks excellent and I think it's complete with episodes, specials and so on.

I actually saw this series back in 1987 and liked it so much for its entertaining plot structure and great music that I ended up purchasing just about every Japan LD for the TV series & the OVA's, the two CDVs', and a few of the CD releases (including a box set). I should ckeck it out again @ some point but that is a lot of TV.
