Hi fellow ld fans, Heres something very special for any anime fan... i brought back a huge gundam box set from japan a couple of years ago. I thought it was in fine used condition but all discs are sealed, all booklets, inserts and obis are there... so its NEW. I'm not an anime fan, is there anyone interested in obtaining this exclusive item ? Let me know, i will gladly donate a percentage to the LDDB website. I'm also interested in trades... you can download my wishlist here: http://users.telenet.be/bolweg/ld/2012-08-30_LDDb_Wishlist.txt.Its difficult to sell this "one" big box set in my lddb shop, since it doesn't exist as one item, its actually a collectible set of these box sets: BELL-1201 Mobile Suit Gundam: Memorial Box Part 1 1998-08-01 NTSC Japan BELL-1202 Mobile Suit Gundam: Memorial Box Part 2 1998-12-18 NTSC Japan Here are some pics, but i am only showing one of the two boxes... theres a lot more ! Are there any fans around ?

I'd buy it if I didn't already have it. It's really amazing. Being a late release the video quality is as good as it gets, and the SIZE of this thing, oh, the size. All new original art for the sleeves, very nice booklets. Totally amazing.
It also has the one episode that for some reason was never broadcast or sold in the US.
It originally cost about (no joke) TWENTY TIMES the price of the US DVD that came out recently, but the DVD looks like such cheap POS by comparison to this massive tome of Gundam.

Original retail price for both sets would have been $700-1000 depending on where you bought it. IIRC the obi have the original price on them. I think they were close to 40,000 yen each. Early pressings of the Amuro box came with the big outer box. I bought it last year, nearly as mint as yours, for the amazing price of $26. Yeah, I get the good deals sometimes.

signofzeta wrote: Yeah, for $2000 I could literally fly to Japan and buy one of these in person. i agree, that price is not realistic. A trade of e.g. 300 US dollars in value would be more correct, from one collector to another... i visit the US about once every two years, so if shipping can wait then you can save lots of shipping costs, i could bring it over and ship from the USA since the item is in Europe.

Shop Yamada's prices are always good for a laugh. I think the proprietor of Yamada has been sucked into a 1990's time warp: back then it was not uncommon for OOP LD boxes to bring such massive prices. Yamada has probably had their LD stock since "the good old days", and will still have all of those box sets by the time Neo Tokyo rises from the ashes .

I've bought a couple discs from him, must have been maybe 10 years ago or so through ebay. I think it was the Burn-Up Excess LD Box, and some other non boxed anime discs. But yeah some of his prices are weird... I think he also has the Urusei Yatsura Box for sale for 5.000$ U.S. laserlord wrote: f that one LD is End of Days, MI:2 or even the Star Wars Japan box set (special editions) then one title could be enough, you know or even a disney's Tarzan or Young Indiana Jones box set... or independence day in DTS would tempt me Sorry, but its only Jackie Brown dts.
