Good afternoon xtempo, publius & hoyeboye.

I now look at the silly prices that are being asked for Japanese Versions on Laserdisc and they are now ridiculous.

I personally have some very rare Laserdisc's but, would never sell any one of these at that price.
Around five years ''or there about's'' these laserdisc's were selling, however especially now, most people cannot justify spending this sort of money and so, would rather wait & purchase the Blu-Ray instead.

For one thing I wouldn't be able to sleep at night feeling as thou, I had ripped someone off......Sorry but that's what I myself would feel like.

The furthest or highest price that I would sell a rare Laserdisc title for, would be $200 TOPS!

When I see the price of a rare Laserdisc like say for instance 1) TITAN A.E. or THE SIXTH DAY for thousands of $ or £ it just sickens me......Collector or not.

I enjoyed reading your post's on this subject

Kind regards

:o

I think that LD might actually be kinda hard to find. I don't keep tabs on it though since this is a TERRIBLE OVA.

Is *any* Japanese anime LD worth $500 anymore? Maybe a really good copy of Daicon with the book. I can't think of anything else.

A better use of 30 minutes would be watching a pot of water boil. At least after boiling water, you can have tea instead of regret. I'm still upset I paid $5 for it on VHS back in 2000.

You, sir, are a good person.

Good day hoyeboye,

I am writing this reply from work at 06:58 am,

Have just read your kind reply sir'

Thank you :)

I have many faults and I am working on them, and there is always room for improvement.
Knowing that I could never rip anyone off is a great comfort, it's just not in my nature.....I am truly glad I can humbly mention that.

Hoping that you are well and taking good care of yourself

I shall look forward to reading from you in due course sir

Kind Regards to you

 :D

The Japanese released English dub LD of Macross: DYRL still tends to sell for a lot. Not sure if it reaches Daicon levels though.

I've seen it on yahoo a few times in the past year and it has never gone above 1500-2000yen. It may have been pricey once upon a time but much like TO-Y and Dream Hunter Rem, that does not seem to be the case any longer. Being a HUGE Macross fan, I want to get it just to collect but I have such horrid memories of that "dub" from the Kiseki Video release back in 1994 (under Clash of the Bionoids, it was the TOHO English dub though, not the edited US thing, Minmei's shower scene was cut though) that I can't stomach the thought of it in my collection. It is worth it just for the cover art though...

Toshiba EMI's "Prefectural Earth Defense Force" still gets 15,000-25,000yen on yahoo. Some other titles such as Ledius, GREY: Digital Target and Chou Jikuu Romanesque Samy can get over 10,000yen sometimes, depends on the seller and how much of a following they have. I have those 3, I hope that some day I will own PEDF.... Maybe a miracle will occur and it will be released on DVD again in the US, and more than 5 copies will be made, but I know that will not happen.

This is probably not the right time to say that I got a copy of the US DVD of PEDF for free… gave it to my sister as a gift.
