U-Jin Brand (1991) [ID2869CT]

just gave this a spin for the first time, since i had time to kill. it came with the 100 Anime LD/CLD-S104 CRAIGSLIST deal
i had jumped on several years ago.

i was rather leary about it since the sleeve sort of drums things up
like the OVA is some sort of full-on X-rate Sexpolooza or the like.

finally got the courage to see what it was all about, and it was actually quite tame.
sure there were sex scenes, but none of them anything worse than what you had in TOP GUN.
the Chara design was nice, and the stories were O.K. (45min. divided into three separate stories)
but on the whole just another one of those forgettable one-off "safe" 90's U.S. Anime releases
from ye olde days of OTAKUdom before U.S. companies were ready to take the chances
that drove the "Great U.S. Anime DVD Boom" of the Y2K decade.

anyway, Opinions? Discuss... ;)

I have this one too. Fairly good stuff for U-Jin. Not hardcore hence it being on the USMC label rather than their Anime 18 label.

I randomly got this sometime ago without knowing anything about it.

I agree its a lot tamer than I would have expect from the cover. Everything is ok and almost forgetable but I'm still keeping my copy since I hate selling my LaserDiscs and there might be a chance I might watch it again

same here. nice soundtrack, attractive Chara design, a vaguely guilty pleasure to be dirtying my 3030 with on rare occasion.

if it were VHS or even DVD, i might have to start considering the Real-Estate factors on my video shelf.
being LD however, the space this occupies is quite negligible. it's hardly the easiest disc to come by, anyway, so... ;)
