a true Otaku Geek's room!! looks like something i would've dreamed of having in the late 90's/early 00's.
hell, i wouldn't mind the least bit having that life-size Sakura Kinomoto and the LD-X1 today!!

Damn, now that's a place I'd like to visit just to crawl through those boxes with anime goodies while taking a closer look at all the nice Pioneer hardware!!! Guess that place is located somewhere in Japan?

it is and/or was. Photos were dated from around 1999 or so. for all we know, he or she might have long since parted with it all.

all the same, if they had, i sure would have liked to have been there if/when they had let that Sakura and -X1 go...

I would have liked to been there too just to take a closer look at the massive Pioneer A-09 amp down on the right side. One hell of a unit and almost impossible to find these days... a real gem!

How about the media room of Rumiko Takahashi herself back in the 80's? Here's an interesting article/manga on Takahashi's setup back in the day.

Having a CRT projector like that way back then showed the kind of $$$ UY etc. brought in (note that even someone as rich as her still had a cramped space, and the LDs of her creation she's holding):

The only way into that Otaku Room seems to be via a crawlspace

I think the problem with those kinds of rooms is that the three feet thick blanket of old Animage mags, empty UFO capsules, and discarded spankerchiefs really messes with the sound quality.

Some of these pics are pretty gross. Demo stickers still on some of the electronics, speakers pointing at each other, impossible viewing angles, wood paneling...nasty.

Something every otaku needs to understand: you can't buy taste and soap is cheap.

Oddly enough, I have a pair of those same JBL speakers ontop of the TV. Great little pair of speakers.

My thoughts are what's the point of having the stuff if you can't enjoy it comfortably. Also spankerchiefs gave me a good laugh. My word of the day

Even my room isn't this messy. I couldn't stand to be in a room like that, no matter how awesome the items in it are...

Your room is pretty good, in my opinion. It's for the most part nice looking and organized.

Pretty swanky tasuke. Do you have a prefered format or just watch what you're in the mood for? I try not to have doubles(try is the key word) of movies across different formats. Then it just becomes a matter of what movie I want to watch.
