signofzeta wrote: One of my favorite shows of recent years is Space Brothers. Since it’s super long and expensive I had no intention of owning it but at $5 per volume? Maybe I will own it. Or some of it it anyway. I think that show is still going...
Gatchaman II and F, Patlabor 1&2, a few others. A huge huge pile honestly. It will take me a year to watch all this. The anime is done at 99 episodes. The manga is still ongoing. And I agree, it's pretty good. If that new Patlabor set wasn't coming (finally shipped today, after delays) I might have considered some Patlabor BDs. The prices in this sale for those were clearly a bit higher to protect sales of that megaset (I did the math). Which is fine and expected on their part tbh.

kassan wrote: Harmagedon made me almost gave up on Anime, no joke possibly the worst I have ever seen...though that maybe cause the expectations were high Well, luckily I started with Macross and all the other 80s stuff then went to Akira when it first came out in a small theater in NYC and then sort of went backwards from there. I remember after seeing Akira at the Film Forum, they then showed Robot Carnival, reading reviews about it made me pass on seeing that one. But I did get into other anime and have started to just pickup these recent bad titles that I remember seeing years ago to have in a nice little collection.

First order arrived today. A couple of the things in here look pointless based on other things I ordered, but they are gifts for other people. HOHOHO.

signofzeta wrote: I’m way too snobby to watch almost any of that except maybe You’re Under Arrest, the original OVA, since it has some of the best hand drawn cars in the history of anime. I can't deny some of it looks pretty trashy. Definitely a fair bit of "well it's $5-10 so if I hate it, no big loss". Speaking of the You're Under Arrest OAV, does that top out at LD in the US? Couldn't see anything about a DVD release. As if I need an excuse to buy more LDs...
